Can I hide an update that has not yet been installed. I have this laptop and the owner has asked me to hide an update, I have been waiting 3 days now for it to download it has not yet shown
which update and what OS? sorry normally there is an optin when you bring up more details on the specific update
any idea why they want it hidden?? Its small and not really something that I would say is a major deal if its installed. Its only an activation update according to the link below. Can't you just download it from the link: http://support.microsoft.com/kb/971033 Its only 1.4mb so shouldn't take long, then its out the way
My guess is his windows is a pirate copy. 971033, if installed, will throw up warnings about windows not being genuine etc. Thats why he wants it hidden
Indeed. There's a good chance the people who produced this particular pirated version of windows also included a mechanism to block the installation of kb971033, which is why it isn't working.
Yes I agree with you sb1991 especially as it has sp1 installed as well, I've waited 4 days to see if the update comes up I think its been blocked. Thanks all.
