Crysis maxed out with 16xQAA 2560x1440 with my custom ultra config.

Thanks, it was a painful slow process of trying to get the right lighting whilst trying to work out how far I could push the graphics. Even at this level of detail it's still high in the 40fps.

I will post a link on here later with my config...(Now in the middle of building my dads new PC).

I only just realise how demanding Crysis is on GPU's.. Playing Dead Space 2 . the inline temp monitior just above my GPUs got to 30 degrees .. During Crysis it rocketed to 41degrees
No enviromental differences infact it was a cooler evening if anything.
I have re-loaded this game and have lost where you get the patches from anyone have a link to them? (pleaseeeeeee)

Some of them are quite nice (third one down for example), but the ones with long draw distances in particular seem awfully blurry. Surely that would make it easier on the GPU if it's drawing less detail in the distance than it normally would (unless it's just applying a blur filter or something over the top, I suppose)?

1.2 patch here. There is a 1.21 patch but I've found (and so has a friend) that 1.21 doesn't allow you to change some settings under Windows 7.

Impressive as that is (mostly because you're getting playable frame rates!!!), that's not the best cryengine 2 can do.

An engine like that and they go and make their new game in a crappy ole urban environment I've seen a million times before

I just hope it sells well enough that they can make a Crysis 3 and do it like the first one but bigger and better.

I've been trying lots of mods and configs for Crysis recently too so I might aswell add some of the stuff I use:

My custom config (A modified CCC config which gives me between high and very high performance but far better graphics IMO, also I've found the main changes between most configs is the HDR and SSAO setting, so i've included a list of these at the bottom for many popular configs, to use them just delete the ";" marks in front of the line)

Silent's HD Foliage I'd definitely recommend this to you True Gamer, makes such a difference to the vegetation.

You might also want to try using some ToD mods, they make a massive difference to the lighting of the game. The most popular ones are CCC, Reli2, Natural Mod and Mster. At the moment i'm loving a slightly modified Reli2 ToD.
