It's good to see NVidia's Tegra chipset finally in things you can buy.

Looks good - the battery life sounds promising. Android 3 is a big plus.

I wonder what the price is?

Ooh, also - what size is the screen? It's not mentioned at all!

Yep, big question - why can tablets like this have an IPS screen, but netbooks like Asus's own Eee PC range can't?

Kenco: 10.1 inch. Same size as an Eee PC netbook. Price will be announced in 2 days for UK and US.

r3loaded - Don't know actually, must be a supplier thing because the Transformer a 1280 x 800 resolution display iirc. If anyone knows how to show off IPS on video, please say, I have to shoot an Android 3.0 demo + Tech overview tonight/tomorrow. (excuse to take one home and play angry birds on the train :D:D)

Taking photos of the screen at ridiculous angles is one thing I can think of!

Is there an actuarial spec somewhere with a listing of ports on both the tablet and the keyboard as well as storage space. I’ve seen mention of SD card readers, USB etc but this was in old “First Look” articles.

I'm waiting till WIndows 8 which I hope will unify the desktop/laptop/smart phone and tablet interfaces into one local and cloud supported system.
Will be picking up Win7 phone sometime this year to replace archaic sony walkman mobile.

    Cool, been waiting for this!

Seems a bit odd that everywhere is saying it's 'released March 30th', yet it's hardly up for preorder anywhere (Google shopping search is blank) and as Bindibagi confirms there's no price yet!

Please don't be too expensive with keyboard. Looking to replace my aged but still very much used eee netbook with this, if it's in midrange notebook price territory then there's too much competition.

    +1 to Highland3r's questions!

Oh and do you know if the bootloader's locked? If I don't like something the manufacturer has put on MY device I reserve the right to wipe it, same as if I bought a laptop.

this would be a perfect combination for students such as myself who have a desktop in the flat. I can use the transformer for notetaking in lectures and the tablet for passing round hilarious stuff i've found on youtube.

    Fingers crossed...

10.1" sips won't be cheap. Looking at what's available, I can see this pitched at £399.
I would be very pleasantly surprised if it were under £300. It would be a bloody bargain under £200.

Android in a multimedia device just doesn't cut it (the same goes to any "mobile" OS), for one simple reason - compatibility, especially with video files. So, until there's a version of ffdshow for Android and a tablet with enough CPU power to handle high bitrate 720p/1080p .mkv/.m2ts/.mp4/.avi files (which make for about 90% of my video collection) I don't really see any use for tablets, aside for the obvious - another pathetic fashion designed by Apple marketing and mindlessly copied by others to ride on the wave.

I like the idea, but not the underpowered hardware.
This would be great if it was bobcat etc.
