I love those stands buddy!! As an ex metal worker I have the same worries as my friend Angel (same name too!). Aluminum welding isnt the way to go in that case as its almost impossible to come up with good results. Tiny screws perhaps???

How much it going to cost to rent that thing out? does it come fully furnished or can i put my own sofa in there

Well... The welding already failed

So now i am halfway done with making new ones of 6 mm steel

I've had a play with them and they're pretty good.

Oh and the brackets looked good, how badly did it go wrong?

Well, as the previous alu stands failed duo to not being "weldable" I decided to make some of 6 mm steel! This will provide better rigity, and I made them look better this time!

A picture of the failed alu welds.

Used the old stands as reference, and then bolted them together.

These are the new ones, with the old alu one to the left.

And again, new versus old.

I am going to make the support rods tomorrow, and hopefully get it welded too! Lets hope second time is the charm lol.

Aluminium's easier to work with,but at least you know thats going to stay in one piece when it gets welded.

Cool, I subbed.

I know it's a bit late now, since you already made replacement pump holders in steel, but couldn't you just have bolted them to the support bars, instead of welding? If you had placed the brackets correctly, you could even have utilized the threads in the radiator for securing everything.

The profiles was only 4 mm thick, so it would have been some week stuff, and not look good:/

I heard you could only use TIG welding on aluminium unlike steel which uses MIG, or you could use brazing to create joints.

Unfortunately for you though!

Nitrixflare <- Yes and no. The posibility of welding aluminum with MIG is also present. But you need a MIG welder that can feed an aluminum wire... Dunno about Co2 vs. Argon on MIG though!

And welding and filling done! After my .cad exam I picked this up from the workshop. A buddy had welded it in the meantime, and I went straight home and put the pumps on

How it looks in its full scale, mounted on the radiator. Did I mention that it is sturdy as hell!?

A close up of the milling. I also countersunk the screw holes for good looks

Had to fill about 2 mm off the Bitspower crystal link to get it to fit, but now its like a glove!

Cant decide what color I am going to paint it, but I think that white might be the choice!

Hope you like the end result here

Now its on to the top!

The one thing that bothers me with this set up, is how it's going to affect cooling performance with that much of the rad covered.

It looks ok, it's probably just me being over cautious about blocking air flow off.

I honestly dont think it will matter

1; I have 3 360 mm radiators, so there should be plenty of cooling potential.
2; Its really not that much that gets covered
