Is Incompatibility a Fault, Scan say not

To cut a long story short I bought a Corsair gt 60 gig ssd
Have been trying to get it to work now for a good 2 weeks there are issues with these drives and my marvell controller, its well documented and Corsair know about it but havent yet got a fix.Wish id known before I bought it

Scan are usually good but on this occasion they refuse to RMA my drive for a refund or a swap, they say there is no fault.

I have spent hours on this problem have applied all the updates , flashed the bios, updted the firmware on the drive, Corsair sent a list of things to try which I did, its better now than it was but still I get blue screens and crashes. its is unusable and I have had enough.

So it looks like I am left with an expensive doorstop
and Ill think twice about buying from Scan again

Incompatibility is not a fault it means it does not work with product x but may work with product y.

A Fault would mean the product does not function with any product.

For example if you use the wrong brand memory used with a certain chipset would cause the memory not to be recognised, this is incompatible. However when the same memory used with a different chipset, would work then the product is clearly not faulty as it is working.

All of the Firmware issues with the Corsair SSD's should have been resolved.

If you can confirm your RMA number we can look into the issue and confirm your options.

Best Regards

Wesley's e-mail from the 5th confirms the following:

I can confirm we cannot issue an RMA for the item as you have clearly stated the device is operating fine on the different controller, the item does not contain a hardware fault but a compatibility between the item and the controller you are trying to run it from, this is not covered under warranty as warranty does not cover compatibility.

With things like compatibility issues you need to send the item back within 7 days of purchasing, I believe.
