Hello Angel,
The reason why I'm commenting so late is that I could only drag my jaw of the floor just then

Outstanding work, but then again, that's what I came to expect of you.

Cannot wait to see the rest of this mod, and I hope it will be a masterpiece such as your CarPC mod was

Thank you for the Art!

Sorry to disappoint you! I wish I had some updates as well!

As for the case, your guess is as good as mine. Dennis Publishing asked for my adress so they could send me the stuff (including the case) that they promised me for writing an article about the WaterCooled WII. I sent them the adress on october 16th... I received a couple of things, but the case, psu and other stuff is M.I.A. I've punked them for it a couple of times the last 2 weeks, but no answer...

Thanks! I've always been a sucker for Beryllium...

Actually, my girlfriend came home with a t-shirt she bought with the same atom design, just with 3 "lanes" - Lithium. I told her "Remember ONE thing! I came up with the idea before you brought that shirt home" She has no idea what I ment, but she'll get it!

A very small update. Still waiting for the case, but there's a bunch of stuff to do.

Today I was out shopping for some stuff for work, and my eyes caught a thingy sitting on a table at the shop. Which is why I don't upload my idea for design before I fabricate them. Because I COULD have made the reservoir from scratch like I designed it, which would be a huge amount of work. But this acrylic piece of beauty just kept whipering that I should buy it! And since I'm not one to argue with stuff that talks to me, I bought it!

So here's the res I will be using. It will of course be modified a bit (maybe a lot, I just drew it up is SW, and are looking at my options)

I also finished the motor/gearbox part. I'm not really sure wether it has enough power to do it's deed, but time will tell. If not, I'll crawl in some old boxes and find a bigger motor!

As you might have guessed, I'm knee-deep in designing at the moment, so updates will be a bit far apart. But I will get there!

Last, but not least, I'll leave you with my X-Mas mod. It was difficult, but I pulled it off in 1 minutes!

Just to say merry x-mas to you all, and thank you for pushing the envelope into the insane!

C ya soon!

They are actually easier to use than they seem!

You actually press it against the part that's in the lathe. Give it 0.1 mm at the time, and just follow it sideways. Pull it away when you get to the end, and start over. Make sure you catch the pattern you made on the last run very slowly and once you get it, give it 0.1mm more. The deeper you go, the deeper the grooves get. Just make sure you don't go over the top. it "cuts" with pressure, so the part you are working on is really being stressed. Don't try on a 3mm in diameter piece of aluminum that's 100 mm out from the chuck!

The res is actually for cotton swabs and cotton pads for removing makeup!

Gotta love ebay!
I saw some SMD LED's at work that you could cut every 5 cm, and decided to have a closer look at them too check out the price.
Disregard the price here in Denmark. I had a look on ebay, and put in a couple of bids. Later that day I had bought 300 led's on a 15 foot roll for a meer $11 with shipping. $1 was actually paypal asking to give to a good cause.

I also got started on the aluminum tops for the new res. I was going to make them with an O-ring as usual, but I kinda put the first one in, and it was stuck... A truly perfect fit! Insted of trying to use the claw in the lathe to take it out, I put the thing under hot water and it popped out. So I made the other one the same way! Gonna do a video for you guys during the next week, cus it looks funny as hell!

Sorry for the small update, but I just wanted to let you know I'm still on the job!

I'm gonna leave you with the most beautiful version of "The night before Xmas" I know!

Yeah, I had a look around and the price was around 100 dkk/15 Euro pr. meter.

That's why I jumped on ebay to have a look!

As I mentioned to Nutman, that's the normal going rate around here as well. Ebay cheesecake!

Thanks a lot, you got my vote as well!

So we are waiting on Dennis? We're doomed, DOOOOOOOOMMMMED!

You definitely don't want the aluminum putting any stress on the rim of that res. If it expands too much and cracks... -A big, mushy, O-ring is in order. I'm watching the end caps on the 'toad res slowly crack for the same reason. It's only a matter of time for them.

I know what you mean about seeing stuff in the store and wanting to use it in a mod. I was shopping for plumbing yesterday and realized the heavy-duty brass sink drains could make some killer reservoirs. I'm still looking for a large stainless whiskey flask with a decent cap for similar reasons.

I have the same feeling about the Dennis comment!

I know you're right about the res, and the more I think about it, I'll just take a little off of the aluminum part and add an O-ring. The temperature changes of the liquid is probably not doing anything positive when I think about the acrylic going brittle over time!

Uh... That flask would be cool in a huge version!

Well... Actually please do! Because the time I've put into making this small thing is just stupid!

I decided to make sure that the bottom part of the case felt the love as well... So I traced out the peridic table for the mill to dwell on... I have no idea how long it's going to take to make it, but I think it fits with the theme so I made it.
It has taken me a beeeeeb amount of hours, so I hope you like it!

And since I have no idea if I'm ever going to receive the case, I really really hope you like it!

I know it looks boring, but this is it:

Made from this:

Can't wait to receive the case so I can get on with it!

And YES Cheaps, we are still waiting on Dennis Publishing... I'm probably gonna get banned from this forum for the post I made in the Magazine Discussion thread, but I'm at my wits end with this...

I love sharing my work with you guys, but if that is how they decide to do business I'm not sure anymore...

Dude, you could have just used vertical / horizontal construction lines and dimensioned those (or linear patterned) instead of dimensioning each individual text piece.

Damn... You can do that!?

Trust me Achron - That was what I did on the first try. But the letters just wouldn't line up as I wanted them straight under the numbers... I agree I could have done horizontal lines, but with the "copy" feature, it didn't take much more time since I had to do the vertical...

Btw - I couldn't get the linear pattern to work with letters... That was my second idea...

Is there room to sneak an oddball into the list? Awesomium?
I know... I was just soooo hoping it would show up so I could mod in my Xmas break... Now I just hope to get it before end of april so I have a month to get it done for my gf's birthday...

Another thing is that I don't know what color I'm getting, so I can't start ordering sleeve or do any frikkin thing to color-coordinate anything....

That's actually a cool idea! If you have an idea of how/where, let me know.

Then I'll officially call Cs "Cheapsonium" instead of caesium ...
