Antec HTPC / Gamer Shuttle

Now it's about time that start my new mod.

It was in fact supposed to be a little and not so time consuming mod, but because of more and more sponsors wanted in on it, i had to up my self a little !

First and foremost, I wish to thank all my dear sponsors, to help me, because without them I would not be able to do what I love most of all regarding computers, namely casemodding.

Many thanks to my dear sponsors, Michael from Coolerkit, Mafalda from Antec, Christian from Aquatuning, Thomas from BitFenix & Tony from Xigmatek!

Now we will proceed with some pictures of the goodies I've received so far.

First and foremost, we will take a look at the things as Mafalda from Antec sent me.

Antec has care to send me a super nice Antec Fusion Remote Max HTPC chassis.

As you can see the cabinet is equipped with a volume knob on the front and a nice display. In the rear of the cabinet there is mounted a 120mm Antec TriCool fan, this will be replaced.

On the right side there is mounted an Antec 140mm Antec TriCool fan, this is also being replaced.

Will be fun to see if all the hardware can be there.

Here are the extra accessories that belong to the cabinet. Since it is an HTPC enclosure, follows of course a remote control.

Next we have to look at the things that Christian from Aquatuning has sent me.

From Aquatuning I received an AlphaCool LCD display as well as their new rack for the display.

Where and how this display will be mounted will remain a surprise until we get there.

It is a very nice LCD display, with many opportunities to configure it as you will. The new holder which I received, is giving the look a notch up.

Then we shall look at the things that Thomas from BitFenix sent me.

Thomas has been so super nice to send me a whole bunch of pre-sleeved cables, and 4 x 60cm BitFenix Alchemy LED strips in red.

Finally, we will tak a look at the things which Tony from Xigmatek has sent me.

Tony from Xigmatek has sent me 4 x Xigmatek XAF-F1453 fans and a super nice and modular NRP MC1002 PSU.

It's some gorgeous fans that Tony has been so kind to send me. Looking forward to see how they match the cabinet.

Lots of modular cables! Yummi yummi yummi !

Then we got a look at the things I've received so far and now it's time to remove all the unnecessary in the Antec chassis.

So were all the junk removed so I can better see what I have to work on and what things I want changed.

Now that all the junk is removed, there is actually quite a lot of space in this small HTPC chassis.

This was what I had to offer at the start and I hope you will keep up with the development. As you may have seen in my previous casemods, then I never do a drawing of what must be done, but instead I'll make it based on the thoughts and ideas I have in my head.

The Fusion Max is basically a medium ATX-tower lying on the side

I would've chosen the smaller mATX-version.

Yeah i know.

The reason why i didn't choose the other one, is that the motherboard which is going to be mounted at the end is an ATX motherboard.

Time for a little update

Either I'm totally wrong, or is that a sand-cake ?
The sand i had bought for sandblasting, was to wet to be used, so i had to dry it somehow, and the first thing that came to my mind, was " Could i bake it in the oven ?" and HELL YEAH it works like a charm :P

Post came by with a nice big package from Coolerkit. In this package there was Casehandles, Power button, UV Red plexiglass and a large piece of mesh. Thanks to Michael from Coolerkit, you are one of the best!

Super nice plexiglass to work with. Looking forward to play around with the mesh!

As you can see the mesh is with a whole bunch of little round holes and not hexagons. And the question is just where do I mount these casehandles?

Since I now had received the plexiglass, I obviously had to get started right away! First I marked up, where the holes should be.

The only thing that were left, was just to cover the plate with masking tape, and then drill all the holes.

This was everything I had for you right now, but be aware - There's more to come!

Thought it was time for a little update

I wanted to make a "window" in the top of the case, and why not use the fine lines that Antec already made ?

Got it all cut out, and sanded all the edges down so they are nice and smooth

Finally i got my air compressor to work again, and got all the parts for the case, sandblasted !

Still need some final touch before the actual paint job.

Also received some nice stuff today

Tony from Xigmatek was so kind to sent me two more fans

These fans is Xigmatek's XLF-F1253, which are some of the nicest fans on the market at the moment, if you ask me.

At last, i want to show you all the stuff that I've finished sandblasting.

You're more than welcome to show me your opinion.

Time for a update!

Made a cut in the sidepanel, and cut some mesh to fit the hole.

As the plexiglas in the top should be fitted together with pop rivets, obviously i had to drill some holes for them.

Everything is finally marked up, and I'm ready to drill some holes!

All holes are drilled, and now it's ready for paint ! Almost can't wait to see the final result

Yeah yeah yeah, the paint has arrived! Red & black. It's gonna be one hell of a mod !

Ready to paint the hell out of the chassis!
