The current version of Empire has a big feature on Prometheus, whilst it doesn't give much away there are a few tanalising bits of information. The trouble is what it tells you simply makes you want to know more so its even more frustrating.

So in short, you do find out a bit more however it will be frustrating, you will want more and June wil seem even further away.

Of course this is assuming that its not all a red herring...

I still remember going to see Alien just after it was released - at the time it was well scary and there were a few scenes that had the audience out of their seats!

One of the all time classic Sci Fi films - well ahead of its time

Just a side note here... You know that part of the trailer with Noomi Rapace covered in blood? What's the betting that it isn't her blood and that the walking and general pain implied by the trailer is that she is in agony over the loss of her lover Holloway...

Just re-watched the original Alien Director's Cut, love it. Currently watching Aliens Special Edition too...but that's where I'll stop.

My guess is that it is the same ship and it is on LV-426.

I reckon the ship to ship collision shown in the trailer is what causes the Jockey's ship to be downed/damaged and remain on the planets, only to be re-discovered during Alien.

The company obviously knew about the ship and the aliens, it's repeatedly made obvious through the Alien film. So it would make sense that some sort of previous encounter had happened....i.e....Prometheus.

Has it ever been established that LV426 is the name of the planet? I can't recall... Because if it isn't, that could mean that both codes refer to the same planetary body, but are different locations on it.

LV = Landing Vector?

Just a thought, of some one who doesn't take it all too seriously.

The planetiod could have been redesignated for a number of reasons, such as an attempt by the company to cover their tracks regarding a cover up of the Prometheus mission or it could have been a new designation system.

I have a belief that there is no guarantee that Prometheus rams the alien ship, it could be the other way round so here is a thought that just occurred to me. When we see the shot of Noomi Rapace saying something like "if we don't stop it there will be nothing to go back to", who is she saying this to? If my theory about the alien ship ramming Prometheus is correct then perhaps she is saying the line to the Space Jockey who is clearly up and moving about in some scenes and perhaps has to stop Prometheus from escaping with an infected crew member on board.

Plus, my paranoia could be kicking in here, but there might be more than one android on the ship, possibly hidden to ensure the "mission" is carried out. I reckon that Weyland might play a significant role in the film, the clue might be in the fact that the viral video they released has him clearly searching for immortality.
