    Hy @ all

it´s time for a new Worklog!!

After a long waiting period, it´s finally released, and we could start our Worklog :D
We already got the case a month ago, but due to NDA we couldn´t share pictures up to now. But now after it´s release :D

But before i start, i want to send a big thank you to Coolermaster!!

They provided us one of their last prototypes (together with one Cosmos 2 from the final series) so that we could start our work early enough to get it done before the cebit starts(where it will be exhibited)

Our theme for the case will be a bit military inspired, with a custom watercooling setup, a few motors and a 2nd mini-itx system which will be integrated beside the normal atx setup.

But enough of the words...lets some pictures talk....

    let´s the disassembly begin....

    thanks m8´s!!!

and now....it´s time for the first update :D

after taking apart the first parts...we started to modify the Top Panel...

Like you could see on the pictures of the first post....inside our Top Panel, there weren´t any switches/buttons or a working front panel...so we had to think how we´re going to use the space.

After a short brainstorming, we decided to keep the buttons were they should be....beside that we´re going to replace the "front panel" with a small LCD Display (the same Type, as we used in our Cosmos Dragon Project). The moving part of the Top Panel will be motorized...but before we start to integrate the motor we had to make a few cuts...for the Power Buttons & Leds & the display :D (just to make sure that everything will fit inside)....

First we made a big hole :D and a paper template
    [IMG]

then we used the paper template to cut a piece of metal & plexiglas to the same dimensions....

Beside that we also start to work on one of the sidepanels, which should get a window in a shape which will match the paint (when it´s done :D)

This looks like it's going to be epic. I love the design for the side panel window and it must have taken an age to file!!!

    thanks m8´s!!

yeah, it felt like years of filing :D

time for the next update :D:thumb:

as the next step on the Front Panel, we had to create a small plate which could hold the power buttons and leds. Beside that we made the opening for the buttons and leds.

We also made a new cover for the switches which could replace the original one and fit more our needs.

beside that we also finished the filing of the window ....

then we started to work on the interiour of the case....better to say, we made a small mainbase for the second system....

oh and not to forget...we mounted the first motor in its place :thumb:

Sup'd :) I want to see the motorized LCD! not to mention the 2nd mini-itx system.

Can i ask what you will be doing with the second system? Is it a secret? :) or just for the hell-of-it?

Nice i see where u are going with the motor. U will use it to move the top panel of the case over the buttons. Is it going to work with a remote or with a hidden button ?

    thx m8´s!!!

yeah it is really a BIG Tower :D

sure you can, it´s no secret. We thought that we will integrate a second system just for office/internet work. We thought it is a shame to power on a full atx gaming rig just for writing a letter, reading emails or browsing the internet....for that a mini itx system is still enough and doesn´t consume that much power. So we integrated the mini itx system for office uses, and when we want to play a game....we just need to power on the gaming rig inside the case....:thumb:

maybe with both, we are going to integrate an arduino for those purposes, so that we´re free to use both options...(i think we will add a hidden button anywhere on the case....and maybe we add additionaly a remote controll circuit....but we´re not sure up to now)

And now it´s time for an update again: :thumb:

Because we´re going to watercool the mini itx system....we had to make a custom cooler which fits on our platform. So we made a quick paper template.... and started the building process....

The Paper Template was transfered on a sheet of copper....

and then we cut out the raw shape of the cooler base plate....

as next step we took an old copper cpu cooler which we had in our workshop (a friend of us build that a few years ago) and solder it to the base plate....together with a few heatsinks....

after that we sanded the cooler and put a thin layer of laquer over it....
