Hello lady and gentlemen,
I'm in the market to find a Mini ITX motherboard for use in my car . I have a custom case and PSU. I would like this Mini ITX motherboard to have; dual core atom or I3 Passive heatsink DDR3 RAM min of 2GB Two Sata2 connectors Two USB2 VGA or DVI output will be using integrated graphic. This will be used for movies for my son or internet browsing for the wife. The output doesnt need to display 1080p but the higher the better as I haven't got the displays and I will get them when I know what output is needed. thanks for your help

Intel D330 mini-ITX, fully passive cooling (replaced coolers with Zalman ones)
Two SATA + PCI SATA card with 5 ports No DVI out but it does have VGA out. 2GB DDR2 (single low profile DIMM) I'm not sure if it can do that much multitasking though - most Atom boards cannot. I've also got a muuuuuch more powerful quad core H55 system too, but you'd need to change the CPU to Clarkdale instead of Llynfield.

I would go with an AMD E-350 or 450 ITX board, zotac make some all-in-one systems with this board otherwise would take an Asus board.

review is misleading or out of date or its a codec issue because a friend of mine uses the Asus netbook with E-350 and plays 1080p without any issues. The main benefit is out of order execution. That and with up-to-date drivers / codecs it is much faster then Atom.

Woah woah woah don't discount the VIA Nano X2 based system! It's faster than the Atom and E-350 by a ton! It also has better multitasking than either. Options for boards are slightly limited for now as it's not in mass circulation yet, you're pretty much limited to the VIA EPIA-M900, which is actively cooled. It's also more expensive than an Atom or AMD-APU based system, but it will play 1080p media well, has VGA and HDMI out and has an extraordinarily low power draw. But it isn't passive so I guess that puts it out of the question so I guess do discount the Nano X2 based system.
