Keep your eyes out: Nicked Motor - 33 GTR
Hey all,
A friend just posted on facebook about his mates stolen GTR, asking to keep an eye out for it as it has some pretty unique upgrades. Figured I would do my part and help out as it would suck if it happened to one of us. I know quite a few Bit-techers are into the car scene, and they might come across it or the parts. Linkeh: http://www.gtr.co.uk/forum/160930-gtr-stolen.html ![]() Spread the word.

Holy crap, if I owned something as awesome as that and someone stole it, I'd be insanely pissed off
![]() I'll do my bit and post it on the car forums that I'm a member of, where possible.

Not road legal, no. It's a racing plate to keep air restriction into the intercooler to a minimum. I presume it's a track & weekender only.

That body kit is atrocious, but even so, I'd be miffed to have it nicked.

Shared up as well
I must agree with smiffy though, some truly awesome engine and interior work (particularly engine, holy crap those parts are stunning ) but my god that bodykit is like Sarah Jessica Parker's face.Make sure to tell your mate to really chase up about the CCTV though, I've known several people who've had stuff stolen and it's taken ages to actually get the footage looked at. Also a car like that with, I assume, high quality security fitted you would think has been stolen to order as opposed to just some scrotes, especially in and around London. Maybe it's worth informing (or asking the police to inform) the port authorities as it's possible that they'll be attempting to get it out of the country quick smart.

If I was a car thief and assuming I knew what I was doing, and had just stolen something as rare as that - it'd have new plates, new paint, and be half way to the other side of the world by now. I sincerely hope for the owners sake that isn't true, but it's a possibility.

Slightly off-topic: Unicorn, have you made any thoughts towards securing your GT4 when you get that far? CCTV cameras in the drive-way and a GPS tracker on the car which activates if the car moves without being turned on should be a priority no?

Unfortunately I fear that since it wasn't found down the road burnt out after a joy-ride, that particular car has either been stolen to order and by now is half way across Europe, or totally stripped for parts and the shell ground up.
Absolutely gutted for the owner, but terrible things happen! Just hope all his mods were declared on the insurance so he can get at least some of the money back. p.s. I didn't think that bodykit was too bad... Not my choice, but not quite a SJP face! |

Cheers all! Yeah if you read the thread, he's been in contact with the police and they doubt it will be found.
They said these kind of thefts usually end up as scrap reclaim jobs, with the thiefs taking a few hundred bob for the metal....

I can understand, now, why that guy in Lancaster thought I was scoping to steal his Audi R8 when I stopped to take a picture of it.
Had no idea there were thieving ***** around with this much audacity. I really hope they get caught.

There's a lot of it about - no-one hot-wires cars etc anymore, they come and steal the whole thing with a flatbed or steal your keys then drive it away.

I would find the Liam Neeson equivalent of car recovery specialists if it happened to me.
I know it's a stupid thing to say, but I have a lot more tolerance for people who break the law when it's a big corporation who suffers, than this kind of crime where someone's treasured possession is nicked by some douchenozzle.

Pretty respectable position to hold, I think. When someone robs from a huge firm, everyone in the upper echelons of management suffers slightly, and they're all stinking rich already. Whereas when you steal something like this, you ruin somebody's life.

I thought you meant Lesley nielsen for a minute. Obviously he would be far less effective. I'm not a facebook user so can't really forward the message, but I hope he gets it back. As a victim of vehicle theft I do sympathise, fortunately it got lucky and my bike was found less than a mile from where I was living at the time.

Really unfortunate thing to happen; I hope the car isn't scrapped or stripped for parts and that the owner gets it returned.
Never nice to have something you own stolen, even more so when you've spent money and time adding bits to it to make it more personal. I can't imagine it would show-up down my area, but I'll keep an eye out if any of those parts or a car fitting that description appears for sale in the near future. Quote:

If my expectations of how I will treat the GT4 when I get it are anything to go by, losing your pride and joy like this would just be heartbreaking. I think the car-recovery equivalent of Liam Neeson would be getting a call from me as well. It's hard to say accurately without knowing exactly what he's done to it, but there's at least a good £40k worth of car there, plus a lot of wrench time.
