Start button, the computer is usually invisible to the system unit.
The company produces Lamptron backlit buttons.

You can make a button-based LCD, using a small frame and buttons.
Photo frame is fixed on the buttons and when you click on the picture frame in the closed contact button.

Painting lacquer is not effective.

You CAN buy chrome spray paint, probably also dark chrome - but I seriously doubt that you'll be able to polish it up to the finish of REAL dark nickel plating.

So, like Kosovar said: get someone to nickel-plate it for you.
