Coolermaster GX RS650 to replace Antec TP 650?

Is that an appropriate swap?

Depends which one it is as there are two versions of the GX 650W.
The first, original one was built by Seventeam and has the model number RS-650-ACAA-E3. This (and other members of the original series) were discontinued because of very negative reviews.
The second one was built by Enhance and has the model number RS-650-ACAA-D3. It is more commonly referred to as the GX Bronze.

Review for the Seventeam built one:

So that one should be avoided.

Reviews for the Enhance built one:

So it is better, but I'm still not a fan of the GX series. So I would recommend getting something else.
