Glad to see you in there modding again, John! Although admittedly it is strange to see you in possession of an ATX motherboard. ;P

My Mentor has reminded me that I have jumped the gun a bit by not showing you guys the inside of the Sniper case and all the fan and radiator placement options.
Start at the bottom we will ![]() Way over on the left is the PSU placement and its venting holes. Next is the optional 120mm or 140mm fan and or single radiator placement. The front we keep here: ![]() Many options here. It comes with a blue LED 200mm fan for this location stock. The fan is also on the fan speed controller from the top panel. As you can see, it is also ready to accept a single 140mm or 120mm although why I don't know. The top is the most interesting so far: ![]() Another of the blue LED speed controlled fans lives here in the stock case as shipped. It is also punched to accept a 2 X 120mm radiator. Anybody see any problems here? What we have is a top cover support 68mm wide blocking the airflow! As the case sits, we can either put the radiator inside and 2 120mm x 25mm fans up top. Or 2 fans inside and the radiator on the roof. We also have a 120mm exhaust fan on the case back like most cases this size. Recharging the camera batteries so more pics later if needed. john

Houston, a problem we have. Gigabyte motherboard has no video output.
I wonder if it will recognise 7" USB monitor? Plotting here I am. john

I don't imagine it will recognize a USB monitor until driers have been installed, though I could be wrong. I just find it unlikely given that Z68 boards have trouble when you plug your monitor into your graphics card when the integrated chip is set as the primary output; BIOS are fairly minimal in their support for this stuff. Though yo could just pull a video card from another system to do the BIOS config & install, then switch over to the USB monitor.
I'm guessing someone will offer up a spare GPU pretty soon, I would send you one but my GeForce 6800GT is my last troubleshooting card, and it barely works anymore.

^ Agreed.
I like the Yoda style made me lol contemplating the options. Robot chicken meets modding, giving me some funny ideas for making modding look fun. ![]() But have no figures yet, I have seen the perfect one for mine though if I do.

I'd use my stuffed Wicket the Ewok in my mod, but he's a bit big, like a teddy bear. I think Yoda and that little tramp of a troll suit John. ;P

It is a great case. The problem will be to personalize it enough so that people don't think "Oh, another murderbox clone"

Time for some verbalizations.
This case has impressed me with it's many venting options. No theme comes to mind yet but it will. Now then boys and girls and unnamed species who know things, what do I need the 5.25 in open bays for? The fan controller is built into the top panel, I use external USB DVD and Bluray drives. Do I need to leave the 5.25 bays open to the front? Also, with an SSD 2.5 to boot off of and the huge size of current HDDs, how many do I really need. I have adapters for 3.5 inch HDDs to 5.25 bays. What is considered 'normal' today? john

I've only ever used a single 3.5' HDD but I'll be running a 2.5 SSD as well in my current build up.
I always use a in case Disc Drive It's just handy and clean to me, you could also use a Reservoir in the 5.25" bays? LCD Display?
