After nearly 5 years, it's time for a new mouse
Hey all, I bought my Logitech VX Nano sometime in late 2007 and it's finally starting to show some signs of age...
It's stopped working a couple times in the past, but a full disassembly + cleaning always solved the problems. Lately, the scroll wheel has been acting screwy and getting stuck, and the right mouse button hasn't been working as accurately as I'd like. I really like the shape of the VX Nano, but Logitech's new replacement, the MX Anywhere, doesn't seem all that nice. It was released in 2009, and it has a laser sensor, so I'm a bit wary of buying it now.. I guess my mouse grip is something like the fingertip or claw style, and I'm used to a compact mouse. Wired vs wireless doesn't matter to me, I tend to play games on a low-ish sensitivity. In my price range of ~$40 or less (~£30), I've looked at the CM Storm Spawn, Xornet and Inferno, the Razer Deathadder and Abyssus, and the Logitech G400. Any opinions? The one that looks the most comfortable to me is the Spawn and Xornet, but there's nowhere that I can really go to try out a bunch of mice.. TL;DR: Decent, preferably compact mouse on a budget, recommendations?

I also considered the Deathadder. I think the Razers have really good ergonomics, very comfy and well positioned buttons, but as above, do have a plasticky feel, and I have concerns about their long term durability. Out of the above the Logitech G400 is IMHO a solid buy. You might also want to look at the G500 which is slightly more.

I feel the same way about Razer mice, I they look nice and feel okay, but I'm not sure about the materials and overall quality..
The Inferno is plasticky compared to the Sidewinder? Ooph, I always thought the Sidewinder was a too plasticky! I think I'll go for the G400 next time it's on sale based on that thread you linked. Thanks and rep'd.
