single card with the same settings i got:

Score: 724
FPS: 28.7
Min FPS: 13
Max FPS: 68.6

Do you think my CPU is bottlenecking the cards?

Hmmm, I wonder if my Enermax 400W can stretch to GTX 480 SLI!

@ flame, yes I reckon it is, but only in a benchmark, most games I doubt the i3 would hold a 480 back.

and blogins, I bet it could

What PSU would you guys suggest for a possible tri sli 480? I Will be overclocking them and I've seen a system draw 1050W, so a 1200W would be adviced right?

Whats the rest of your system?

I'd suggest probably something like a 1200/1250W unit should do it

My Enermax 1250w does tri sli without even trying, As thetrashcanman above say's a 1250w will do it especially if you get a Enermax

I'm thinking of upgrading my motherboard to a Asus Crosshair V, and I already have a Phenom II 955 overclocked to 4GHz.
Also got 8 gigs of ram, 5 fans and a pump for my watercooling loop.

I was thinking of getting a OCZ ZX1250W, its 209€ but since I don't have any second or third card yet it won't be in my desk any time soon

What would the absolute minimum be? Assuming you don't take any risks like using a 450W PSU

minimum if you go with an enermax unit would probably be 1000w or 1050w in enermax's case I believe

I had a Corsair HX1000 and with just two GTX480's it was getting hotter than the devils arse, Hence the Enermax, tbh its what the 12v rails can do.

Ummm, no!

I'll reveal it later on, however I can say my ASUS GTX 480 is going to turn in to a Frankenstein card. I feel like I'm operating a GTX 480 chop shop over here at the moment! It should look really nice by the end of it though. Just need some TIM to complete my plans!

Looks like you're taking a beefy-looking cooling plate/VRM unisink from another card to use on your 480.

He shoots and scores! It's a Hydro Copper transplant from a dead GTX 480...

The Hydro Copper is quite adaptive and splits in to three segments...

It's all cleaned now. Even took the heatpipe out and cleaned that up. Just need me some Arctic Silver 5 then I can reassemble the Hydro Copper. The Hydro Copper water block is very minimal on the inside in comparison to an EK for example. I'm thinking this would induce a high flow rate through the block.

Also the original Hydro Copper GTX 480 PCB shows good signs of life. It has frozen on a few occasions but once working it seems okay. I may jerry rig a second PSU simply to test SLI, offloading the GPU power to an Enermax 850W. The second card would only be on air though.

That is a monster of a sink I kinda shot myself in the foot by getting the Gigaybte Special Edition 480 - the cooler on it is just incredible. The only thing I can do to make it perform better is to clean the dust out of it LOL.
