Computer is Finished, Cable management tips required!

So I've finished my computer off now that the second 680GTX finally came. Cable management just isn't my strong point and probably never will be Has anyone got any tips? As you can see it's a dogs breakfast

Get extension cables for the CPU 8 pin, PCIe etc, move all the power cables to the back tray (If there's room)

Bit Techs old guide: http://www.bit-tech.net/modding/2005...idying_guide/1

You can buy individually sleeved cables from Corsair and other companies, looks much better than the tangled mass above

I don't know if you can with that motherboard, but it's a good idea to space the two cards out, to get better cooling to the top GPU. Also, you only need to use one SLI bridge.

But yes, as Mongoose pointed out, try to run the cables behind the motherboard tray. You will probably need extensions for some of them.

Root the cables through the grommet next to the psu and for the pcie power connectors, take them out in the grommet next to the gpus and for the 24pin one, take it out next to that connector.

The 8 pin cpu power as it didn't reach around the motherboard on mine, so I just stretched it across as I couldn't be bothered with an extender.

Yeah i did try to run them behind but too short! So I need to get extenders.

Yeah I realise I only need one SLI bridge, but could not get SLI to register at all with The one that came with the motherboard. It seemed a bit dodgy, and had folded back on it's self, So I fitted the orange one from my 7900 gtx SLI build which seemed to work and just didn't take the other one off Unfortunately the only place I could get the 680s in was right beside each other because of lane speeds. Temps still never go over 81 deg c though so not too bad!

I will order some extenders and see if I can work out something clever to do with the fan cables and repost! Thanks

Could the 8-pin CPU connector reach if the PSU was mounted with the fan-facing down?

I'm on 3Mb, but 3kx4k is still ridiculous for a forum page.

It seemed slower than I would have thought though, maybe it was the hot-linking.

You tend to do cable managment before plugging everything in! Anyway try to route as many ables as possible behind the mobo tray. You may need to get extenders if you want to be ultra fussy about routing (I use a couple of extenders for my GFX cards)

Route the cables behind the motherboard tray like has been mentioned already and get some cable extensions because they come in handy.

8 Pin Mobo X1

6 Pin VGA X4

24 Pin Mobo X1

They make the world of difference inside a case, and you could even go for some braided Sata and Sata power lead's aswell if you wanted.

This is what they could help you achieve and what the back side of you pc would like like.

Wow thats super tidy management! I need to do that when I find the time! Pictures of the watercooling make me miss my old water cooling loop. I just did away with it because every gfx upgrade costs 70-90 more

Also is that a phobia res? I found my phobia res just leaked out the top a lot.

Cable-management is a long process of trial and error for me. It takes me under 20 min to build a PC but for great cabling I'll spend over an hour to get it just right.

Edit: Any one know where to get super short SATA power cables? for mATX Cases where the power supply is back to back with the PSU? (like 1-2 cm length.)

I normally spend as much time as is needed to keep the insides of the pc as tidy as possible from cables.

The res is a Phobya one, and doesn't leak but probably because I make sure I tighten everything up to within a inch of it's life

A decent level of neatness is possible without buying cable extenders and stuff:

Does your RAM reallly need cooling? Have you tried your rear fan as an intake? Might get better CPU temps that way, and you could remove the RAM cooler possibly.

What case is that?
