Testing the ventilators of PSU.
Without 3D-load power supply still is cold, but the minimum rpm of the fans is 1500, less than this value PSU (or m/board) can't set.

DIY -rheobus.
Microcontroller, digital thermometer and some small parts...
Uses PWM for control 4-pin ventilators, all settings are made with the program.
Connect to PC via serial port (it is present on the board) or via USB/RS232-adapter.
With this device minimum rpm is 1000 (if PWM=0), and if temp of PSU still less than 30-35 celsius, the ventilators are off.

Hey man - nice work so far.

I'm currently putting together a small-case mod (log to go up hopefully later today) and had some issues with fitting graphics/risers myself. A couple of the chaps here recommended definitely not going over 15cm, or even to not use one at all (which I couldn't do, given my dimensions). Your benching screenies seem to show no marked difference though, which is surprising - did you actually re-solder all the pins yourself to make the extension before the 30cm cable came? And is that extra wire soldered on drawing power from the molex plug to boost the data transfer?

ModSquid, screen with test results was shown for the long "DIY"-riser, consisting of two short ones. Its length was 14 +14 +2.5 = 30.5 cm.
The factory riser also does not limit the speed of the tests, but with him there are BSODs.
Сause - not enough power from the PCIE, so I took the power from MOLEX.

But i5-3570k (maybe, and others Ivy Bridges) NOT WORKING with long risers and any new videocards, which uses PCIE v.3.0.

Ah, those electronics make me drool.

Did you actually strip off all of the casing from the PSU? I hope that won't cause any problems?

Yes, PSU stayed w/o any casing. And all hardware work normally from may 2012.

The firmware done, and today I ordered 2 meters of flexible RGB-strip.
