Anyone else excited for this MP Shooter. Anyone play the original will realise how competitively you had to be to win. I for one am looking forward to this masterpiece.

I thought this thread would be about the sudden and violent removal of chavs from our society. Shame.

NS1 was a master-piece, really brilliant game.

NS2 has been in the making for so long I clean forgot about it!

I've been on the beta for a year or two, it just seems to be missing something from NS1 and I'm not quite sure what it is.

The fact that it's been in beta for a year or two underlines the main problem.

Will/does it use VAC2 like most other HL2 based mods? I might have a VAC2 ban kicking around from years ago which would stop me playing this!

Well unlike other developers, when they rush our their products as they are too lazy or have constraints with money to fix their game in time for shipping. I am happy that Unknown Worlds Entertainment are delaying their game to fix as many problems/update the game as best as possible.

I liked NS 1 until the combat rules came out. I also thought the game worked better when the aliens were more powerful (pubs) than the marines.

Some of the stuff I read about NS2 on the dev's forum makes me unsure as to whether this is going to be a hit or not.

I really detest chavs. Lot of experiences of them. Counter-chav operations for many years.

Scratch my earlier post. NS2 is shaping up really nicely. Teamwork is required, there's good maps, interesting classes etc

If it even comes close to what the first one was, this is going to be great. The only thing that I remember being sorely needed in the first one to ensure a good game was that each team needed at least a few competent players for it to have some structure.

On a really good note, one of the lads from ZiiP had this on pre-order since it was available and he's getting a spare copy and has kindly offered it to me! Pleased as punch to say the least!

Errr, is it still in beta? I'd love a key if that's the case. Otherwise I'll have to watch from the sidelines due to budget. I played the original extensively, mostly at LANs, which gave it a special kind of atmosphere. Would definitely be interested in trying it again.

It was released on Steam a few weeks ago, I picked it up recently and I'm enjoying it a lot. I never got into the first game though so cant compare.
