I've had both over the years, although my last ATi card was an X1950XTX. It was an epic card. Just happen to have been pushed towards green cards since, based on when I was buying and what was around.
Can't personally remember any driver issues back then, certainly nothing show-stopping anyway

Anyway... I hope the 660Ti comes in at 7850 price range, as that will sway me to get one.

I like to think the 660 gtx is the card for humans.
I am expecting similar to 580 or close. I also think it'll be overkill for my res also... So look forward to cranking it up. Unless I buy a 480 gtx. Depends... I like the idea that a 660 will have more headroom power wise on my psu.

560TI pricing would never happen, the 670 was just too good. Unless the 660Ti is a flop which I doubt.

Well I get to choose either between this or GTX580s hovering around $230..
I'd opt for the 660Ti when it comes out, but at $230, a 580 is still one hell of a steal. And not to mention, one hell of an upgrade from a HD6850

Yes the 570 and 560 ti 448 have become quite attractive cards price wise recently. But the 660 ti having the 1.5gb of ram and a newer card makes it doubly appealing. Although, if they push down enough I'd consider a higher mem equipped 570. I haven't actually checked whether they did the double mem 570s... I need to pay more attention.

They do have a 2.5GB version of the GTX570 but it's not exactly common.

Agreed, the pro's and cons between a 7850 and 560Ti make it a tough choice.
7850 is: Lower power 1x6pin More modern Very overclock-able (performs better than Nvidea 570) 560Ti Cheaper Power hungry Better performance (Dont know about overclock capbility) I want the 7850 to hit £160 before i buy. £180-200 (currently) is just too much.

I don't know when this "AMD has bad drivers" stereotype came about or why it still exists. Had my 5870 for almost 3 years now and it's been a champ, no driver problems at all!

I can honestly say I have never had a bad moment with a,AMD card yet and that is since the old xt9800 days. Touch wood.

I wouldn't look at a GTX 580 any more, as a non-reference HD7870 will easily beat it while offering loads of individual benefits, and with the price cuts should come well under it. Same with the 570 and the 7850. It'll be very interesting to see the price and performance of the 660/660ti.

I don't see any point of getting a 7870 when the 7950 can be had for a tiny bit more

It depends on the new pricing, which doesn't seem to have taken effect in the UK yet.

Bought a 7850 the other day as I couldn't be bothered to wait a month or two for the 660 to come out. Its played pretty much every game (except bf3) on full settings at 1080p, while keeping very quiet. No driver issues at all
