Project: Sasori - A military m-ITX Build
Hi Bit-tech!
So here we are again, another start of a new Scratch Build project in the smaller category. Let me introduce Project: Sasori - A Military m-ITX Build! As some of you might know I started my first project in 2010 and that was called Silent Shadow, because it was my first project I decided to go the more "safe way" to build a bigger more standard ATX case, with project Silent Shadow I learned a lot of new things, ways to think and so on. But this time around with that almost out of the way I decided to go with something new, I have always wanted to build a m-ITX system but never got around doing it, so with my new way of thinking and ideas I just had to do a m-ITX build! So here we are a new Project Log for a small project. My thoughts around the design is a tower much like Silverstones Fortress chassis, But fully liquid cooled by a 180 or 200mm radd in the bottom. I had some cool Ideas for it but that got scratched after realizing that I could not get my hands on any long and reliable PCI-e Risers to be able to move the graphic card away from the motherboard and still have it show in a good way. So I had to go back to the drawing board and make it more of an classic design but in the same time make it my own! Enough rambling on, here is a list of thing I have to get for this system: Motherboard [X] - Done, I went with ASRocks Z77E-ITX board for it's clean looks. Processor [] - Intel of course. RAM [X] - Done for now, I have some Corsair Vengeance LP 8GB kit Graphics [] - PSU [X] - Done, I will be using SilverStones SFX 450W PSU because it Has all the connections I need and in a small form factor. Harddrive/SSD [] - Have not decided if there will be room for a 3,5" drive or just SSD's, Time will tell! Aluminum [] - This will be bought after all my drawings are done, I hope to be soon! Fans [X] - Done, I have two options here depending on what type of radiator I will use, I got 2x180mm Silverstone AP Fans and 2x200mm Bitfenix spectrePro White LED fans. Sleeving [] - I have not decided if I'm going with a paracord och MDPC-x Sleeving. Radiator [] - Either 180mm och a 200mm Tubing [X] - I have some over from my last project, might change it depends on if I go clear or Sleeved ![]() Pump [] - Yet to be decided Reservoir [] - Fittings [] - CPU Block [] - GPU Block [] - The list might get longer as the build progresses but that's it for now! Hope you survived that wall of text! But lets get this build on the road and make this happen! Thanks to my Sponsor: Erik och Daniel From Inet.se A Swedish E-store |

So here we have some CAD Drawings to begin with so you get a feeling for my thoughts of how it will look, Keep in mind that there will be a lid on the top to hide all the cables and to make space to be able to mount the handle that I'm planing to have on top. I also have some cool ideas for the handle but more about that later
![]() More to come, like some pictures of some hardware that Inet.se is sponsoring with! and more assembles as I get the design closer to finished! Until next time! /Bl00m |

That looks badass! My next build will have to be m-ITX based. Thanks for the inspiration. |

Some thoughts
So I have been thinking of some smaller details,
For the handle I'm thinking of using a 12,7mm round or 50 cal. As of the theme is Military and for the color theme will be Desert camo. What is your thoughts of that? |

I like the look of it in many ways...
Love the 450W SFX PSU, still amazed at what the 300W version will run in my SG05 ![]() I have a "beige box conversion" on the go - note to self: Must document and post... I have just bought THIS on ebay to take it to LAN nights...it's a lovely bit of alloy and looks the part. I'm torn between a desert camo look and metallic graphite/black. So, a vote for desert camo and a good carry handle from me-keep up the good work! |

So here we have another update, this time with some hardware.
Inet.se goes in with some discount on parts for the build I have still not decided which of the fans I´m going to use, any Idea? I'm soon done with all the drawings, at least enough to order the aluminum plates so I can get some in to the CNC

So now when I'm working on the last steps of the design I have started thinking on were I'm gonna place the pump and which pump I'm going to use.
Any Ideas? ![]() I'm thinking of a D5 vario to get the best sound/performance, but It's a big pump. The other way is a DDC pump. What do you think? |

So a small update!
Hi everyone!
I just wanted to let you know that, things are moving on in the background. Right now I'm waiting for some prices of the Aluminum for this build, I got one Price but that was higher then for my Silent Shadow build almost twice as high! I hope that I can have a price tomorrow that might be more reasonable. I have also started a Facebook page that you can follow for more smaller updates like this And there might be some contests in the future as the Likes go up ![]() https://www.facebook.com/ByBl00m There will be going up some more pictures there soon. See you in another update! //Bl00m |

Okej so long time since the last update now.
But I have now ordered all the aluminum plates and I hope to have them before the weekend. There will also be a design change with the handle, I will be using a handle from a ammobox. I will also use the lock as to hold the lid of the chassi inplase ![]() I hope to get going now when I get somethings to work with. So the project isn't dead yet

Long awaited Update! :D
So hi everyone!
I know it have been some time since my last update on the project, but I haven't had time in my schedule, until now! So all the aluminum is now in my possession and I hope to get everything rolling now. I wont be unpacking the aluminum until it goes in to the machines or worked on in another way, so here are some pictures of the aluminum packed in cardboard and plastic wrap: Until next time, take care! //Bl00m |
