This I made yesterday :) .... My first ever produced watercooling part :D

Its a GPU only TOP, made out of a single POM piece (Made to fit some old cobber bottoms)...

Made very simple/fast, but its also just a prototype, still some changes to do :)

Pretty happy about how it look, thinking about that is was just a prototype, and nice go get some experience in doing stuff like it :)

Have really enjoy making this, hope to make more watercooling / modding parts, would LOVE it :D

Thanks :thumb: ... And POM is really lovely to mill, just love to make stuff out of it :D ...

Has been working with Acrylic, POM, PA6, PHED etc (Plastic) in many year, but the first time I do something like this, and really love it :)
(Could be nice someday in the future making stuff to the community)

Its nice to get some practice, since im planning making CPU, Chipset and fullcover to my casebuild ...

Thanks again :thumb: (And its normal to have that kind of fetish :naughty: - I hope :D)

Nice work, I don't know much about this material but a quick search shows it's a polymer, could it be used for 3D printing?
I don't have a lathe/mill but I would like to do some work with this material and as I mainly use hand tools can POM be sawn, filed and drilled, I see you have threaded this piece, can you tap straight into POM or do have to use threaded metal inserts?

I would like to use this material with aluminium as I think they would make a nice contrast together with shiny ali and the satin finish of POM. :cooldude:

    Me2 :D

No, you dont use POM when 3D Printing, most small 3D printers use ABS.

And POM is pretty easy to work with (Sawn, drill) - And you can tap straight into it, no problem ... Its a pretty hard material, so normally I dont use metal inserts, only in softer types of plastic - But its depends of how strong you want it to be ...
