    Hello all,

Quick question regarding LED replacement on Antec fans.
I want to replace the Blue 3mm LED's in 120mm fans, And the blue 5mm LED's in the 200mm fan with some nice white ones.

I have found these on farnell's, Will they be ok?

Next, I have a FET that needs replacing on my Maximus III Gene.
It controlled the Opt Fan 2 PWM header, Which decided to pop when one of the Phobya fan LED wires shorted on the case, Now I only get the LED power on the fan and no RPM.
The board is absolutely fine otherwise.
All the other PWM headers have these exact same FET next to them, The suspect FET has surface burns.

The FET that needs replacing is a NIKOS PA102FDG:

I'm no good with understanding these things, But a quick search on Farnell tips up nothing for that brand/model of FET.

Anyone know how to find a compatible replacement?

    As always, thanks in advance

    Andy

The LEDs will be fine but you can get much cheaper than Farnell.

As for the FET. If you can't find anything identical just look towards another P-channel Enhancement mode FET that has similar specs as the one you have and give it a try. The important values are usually the VGS (th) which is the point where the transistor starts to switch on, the Drain source voltage and the Continuous Drain current.

I'm not overly skilled in picking out alternatives for parts though.

Thanks for the info Tealc, I've sourced some LED's which were much cheaper.

Still having trouble finding that FET, I might look out for a faulty motherboard and scavenge it.

    Cheers
