mattbailey has yet to learn the way of the Dremel
Kickstarting the project, when a commercial company already owns 50% of the rights, and the "Kickstarters" already own a games studio.

I, as a donator take the risk and they take th profits (if any). Genius. I think not!

Would it be a risk tho? Either they dont make the amount needed and they dont get funded, or they do and since they are already established it is more likely the game will be released rather than the project getting cancelled.

There is always a risk, look how many games EA et al can in a year some even quite far along in development. Also where is the up side?

Yes. They could:

A) Raise the money
B) Pay Kickstarter their 5%
C) Spend the other 95% on development costs
d) Run out of money and stop

Loved the reboot they did for the sega megadrive, can't say I ever tried any of the early versions though.

The upside is of course that we might get another Dizzy title where as without kickstarter we would otherwise never see!

Please check this other UK Kickstarter project, a game made by one person, inspired by Dizzy, call Spud's Quest: http://www.kickstarter.com/projects/...42/spuds-quest Only 3 days to go and he is close to the goal, maybe you could help him. He's got a demo posted, which i quite loved, tbh.
