I really liked the Tropico games, but they aren't everyone's cup of imported water soluble beverage mix, and often receive so-so reviews. I'm willing to wait and see.

The screen shots looked good for the type of game, Joe. I can't judge the UI, but what is wrong with the graphics?
It does look empty (although the Tropico games aren't packed with action either), but just adding movement and objects into a world can raise the system hardware requirements for little gameplay purpose.
I want a game to be pretty, but I also don't want fluff cluttering up the world when I'm trying to find what is important. It is a fine line to travel.

at which point Omerta becomes a turn-based combat game with enough detail flush with detail.
And this is why i delete the entire sentence when i decide to change it.

Is that the same engine that's used in World of Tanks, d'you think? Something about the way it does trees and their shadows.

And in all honesty there's nothing wrong with it that a bit of postprocessing wouldn't fix.
