Infinity MOD - FINISHED

Hello everybody!

This is my first project here at bit-tech, and hope you enjoy seeing the pics of the progress as much as I did creating it.

As mentioned in the title, this will be a scratch build. The choosen materials are stainless steal for the body of the case and methacrylate for both side panels.

The external body is 3mm thick, with unibody finishing. The inside of the case will be totally modular, made also of stainless steal, but 2mm thick. I have spended near 120kg of stainless steal to create the case, so you could imagine how big is.

There will be two GIANT side panels of ¡¡¡1cm thick!!! methacrylate. Used an entire panel of 2m x 1m to cut both side panels.

Let's continue!

I made some drafts with sketchup prior to get working with steal. I'm not an expert with sketchup, but you can get an idea of how it will be.

And of course, some "work in progress" pics:

Seriously, you can't imagine how stunning are the side panels in real life. Sorry for the bad quality photos.

Some pics of the main hardware:

3-Way SLI GTX 580 EVGA SC:

Motherboard, CPUs & Ram:

The motherboard is simply giant, I never had one as big as this one.

Time for Pumps now!

That's the default look of our appreciated Laing D5 Pump:

That's the new look after some surgery:

Not bad at all, but it's still not perfect, let's give them a bit of led light and let's see...

Much more better now! But if we do some sleeving... MDPC of course!

That's it!

The board itself may not be a looker, but bloody hell it's got me going. Aside from the dual xeon purdyness... that's a lot of HDDs. I mean that's an awful lot of HDDs. This build is just mahoosive on every front it seems, definitely subbed to see where this is going to head.

So.. It could not be other way, it's time for sleeving!!

These are the colour scheme I have choosen:

Here are some fans sleeved, the 200mm ones:

And now, what really matters, a totally custom length cables for my dual Silverstone Strider PowerSupplies. Near 150 meters of cable used for this, and obviously sleeved.

Tomorrow some more sleeving pics

Awesome.
Do you have to tip the rig against a wall when you remove a side panel? Or do you have something to hold it up?

I did them with an industrial grade machinery for curving metal.

I've never seen such configuration anywhere, neither. In fact, Asus told me there was only a few people in Europe that has this mobo.

It's my main Media Server, but it will be also my foldinator, and eventually for gaming, but this is not my main gaming rig.

Hi all!

Some more photos I've made today. I was all day testing the machine to ensure all are working properly.

Maybe tomorrow I will post more photos of the case while working on it.

I finally found a bit of time to work on the case.

Here it is in the middle of my livingroom, I'm "modding" the whole home also xD

A closer look of the case, with all the necessary holes done:

With bulkheads:

Testing with pumps:

Absolutely perfect!

It only remains some cuts to be done, and a bit of polishing. I hope it could be done next week to start mounting everything in the case.
