The World Wide Web celebrates its 20th birthday

Two decades since CERN set it free.

20 years since CERN made the World Wide Web free for anyone to use but not the 20th birthday. That was 2011.

The article makes that clear: the headline is arguable, depending on when you see it being 'born.' I see the birth as when it was publicly available, not when it was first developed at CERN. Think of it like a human baby: is the birthday the day when the child comes out into the world, or the day of conception?
