Where to begin... It has been a good couple of years since my last project log and those years have been spent well! Firstly E22 has been growing at a nice steady pace but more recently together with Hans Peder (Pope) we launched Hex Gear. I knew when we first started to project the business that it was going to take up a considerable amount of my time so to try and help compensate my very patient girlfriend I promised her a new PC in our first chassis the R40

Your Editor22 why is the project called 21? Well as this build is going to be for my much better half I wanted it to have a little significance so have named it after the day that we got together and one of the greatest songs of all time that never fails to bring a smile to our faces.

So lets just jump straight in here with some pictures of the case as it is now. This is the final prototype R40 matx chassis with a purple reverse matx accent pack.

All of the hardware should be arriving this week so I can get started on the smaller jobs like painting the fans, sleeving working on the designs for the custom parts that will help make it that little bit more personal

Nate how come you didn't contact us for white waterblocks to complement this build? ;)

    :p

Your previous project was ace so I have high expectations for this one  Have fun!

Me neither Parge! It's like sending children into the big bad world :worried:

haha it's been nearly 2 years since I did a log! This is just going to be a pretty straight forward but super clean build. Should be a lot of fun!

    Thanks dude, I sure will!

I would have but its going to be a pretty tame machine just mainly used for web browsing and office

There he is! :D This should be good. All that business stuff made you go quiet, and that wasn't much fun for us.

Damn pesky business stuff getting in the way of having fun! (he says having waited months for an update) :duh:

    Thanks dude

    ___________

    Update time :D

So I have been playing with the laser for a while now and after some trial runs for a friend decided to go all out and engrave the side panel with some flourishes.

For this I downloaded a flourish and nature vector pack and started laying it out in Illustrator to create a nice symmetrical flowy design.

Any RGB black in the design gets taken away by the laser.

Once the white powdercoat is removed you can see the bare aluminium below.

    The detail is pretty impressive.

Fortunately for you, my memory is getting bad.

That looks awesome. I wonder if the exposed bits could be anodized.

I was thinking exactly that! I just need to find someone local with an anodizing bath to borrow! I don't see why not though as it should not effect the plastic of the powdercoat.
