hi there. i have cast my love on the corsair 380t, but i have a mATX, not ITX. so what does i real modder do ? MOD IT! so let us start. here it is.. lets strip it apart done now lets cut a little well, i have to make a whole new backside plate, thats why i leave 0.5 cm so i can use some rivets. now i only have to figure out how thick the new plate should be, i am thinking about some 0.8mm plate. but lets see... and i also need to find another mATX case, also need to find a way to place my powersupply a fine start of the project please feel free to leave comments, and suggestions
Corsair's 380t Black and white concept well. another day in the life of a modder i have an idea of making it black and white, since i will have all red LEDs changed into white. i have change all the riverts and used new white ones, mainly becuase i dont have any black, and alot of white. so instead of have some of them white, i took a decession to make them all white. now the case was seperated i had a old Fractel design define mini: kill it so it goes the right way. the backside from the fractel case fitted like a charm so i hope next week i can get the back, cutted and rivert into place good weekend
Great idea, the 380T really is large for ITX, cramming in a mATX kit is the best thing to do with it. Will be watching with interest.
#4 thanks i this morning i notice a little ekstra piece that needed to be cutted so i have some work to do before monday, where i get my backplate furthermore i have placed an order: a nice touch to the mod on the last picture in the previous thread you can see 2 long stiffeners, normally you can put 2x120mm fans up on those, i will make use of those with, one fan for GFX, and one fan for CPU. since i will be using the silverstone tundra td03 water cooling for my CPU.
the picture is from ncases.com, where they sell it for 10USD i think it is. but the shipping cost is way to high for me, so i found it at the local hardware store for the small amount of 5 usd
Update on my mod once again i got the plate from the local workshop yesyerday... i started to cut, measure, cut.. and make it nice alot of mess but the end result is really going to be nice i threw the motherboard in place looking fine, even got some room for a little cable management enjoy the pictures now i beginning to think where i put PSU and my CPU cooling i noticed that i forgot to cut a little corner but is it nesscary ? i think i will put a few thoughts into it and the big question is, the CPU cooler? should be be in side or in the back?
well been paint and cutting tomorrow i hopefully got some pictures of the case, where i hopefully start to gather the case back together.
the last part of it well... i got painting and cutting and the case are coming together as a whole PC once again well, i am happy with it myself just hoping that corsair gets thier minds open and make a mATX enjoy it the hardware comes on monday i hope it wasnt that difficult to mod to fit mATX i hope someone else will do this so Corsair gets thier eyes up for the mATX size cases. comment are more than welcome i'll be posting a another shot with the hardware stuffed inside
