I installed the new button and worked on some more of the wiring... no picture tho because my mother took the camera into work for for a bit... I guess you'll just have to take my word for it that it looks really nice.

thats a sweet case "cover" man. I just read the whole thread. My dad is a finish carpenter so i can really appreciate the true beauty of wood, its just beautiful. I like the color the Linseed oil gave it

I read from begining to now... done a great job on the wood, bro!
Excellent patience!

IMHO, I feel that the SPST switches almost look like "splinters" jutting out of the front of the case. They break the continuity of what is otherwise, a splendid example of creativity and vision!

Now, I have never made a wood case, and I have never made a fan bus or a bay bus, so I cant be as forthcoming on the whole "advice/part numbers" suggestion, but I can browse like crazy in Mouser, or I have a serious electronics warehouse here in Dallas that I can browse thru their stocks and if I find something that would work, I'll pic it and post it up.

However first and foremost... you have done an excellent job on this case. And if the switches are a part of your vision, tell me to STFU and just sit back and enjoy the ride!

Last update (sorta)!!!

I completed the case and everything is installed in it!

Only two problems, my reset button seems to be fried, which is no big problem but does need to be fixed sometime...

and the other problem is with the fan switches. They are supposed to switch the ground on the fans between 0V and 5V, thus changing the fan's voltage from 12V to 7V. But when i have all the fans at 12V and switch one to 7V, the psu makes an odd noise, but the fan does go to 7V. But then when i switch 2 fans to 7V, it works for about 3 seconds and then the psu shuts off. (I tested all of this before I put the system in) Now this really confuses me and Ill make a diagram of the wiring and post it later.

Pictures:
um... yeah, my mother has the camera at work again, I'll have it back at 4:15PM today (its 6:41AM now) so until then.....

it sounds like there might be a short with ur fan switches if the psu auto offs after about 3 seconds. Mabey you should check ur wiring. I will take a look at the diagram when u get it posted and see where you might have gone wrong. Nice Job!

Hey! Well done - it looks dead good! I'd be tempted to agree with other people in that the toggle switches on the front don't match the general 'look' of the case - but this can be a mod for later!
One thing though - tidy your cable inside!

re: Circuit diagram, if that's what you've done then all should work. However, I'd guess that something is shorting across or a switch is faulty. Continuity check everything (with the power off).

Super nice case!

Sleeve those power cables and get that yellow, red and black attack out of there!
