Hehe yeah he remembers you, had a few choice words to say but then the thing with him is he says anything and doesnt matter what people think.
He said the lan arena got closed down??? suprised at that I thought those places would do good business, but then again if you have broadband at home why go out and pay to play games when you can in the comforty of your own home!!! |

Yeh, if i remember correctly i only met him twice, and he doesnt think much to my CS abilities.
Never really spoke to him actually. Yeah Lanarena shut down about 8 months ago now, for the reason you mentioned. It got progressivly worse, i suggested that getting new games and upgrading the PCs would help, but i was just a lowly gamer, what did i know :P. Nonces, i laughed so hard whrn they went to the Owners house and took his BMW Z3 away during the official Closing party he hosted. With out mentioning any names on this forum, i know that most of the PC got stripped down by old customers and there are a far amount of 20Gb lanarena hard drive floating around nottingam with all the games still working and with no-CD patches, ready to be plugged in. And within a week of the place closing, we all went in to the nottingham branch for a final staff gaming session, to find 20 of the 32 PC without their Geforce 2 Pros, and no memory. Hahahahaha is all i can say, stupid place never did lock the PC cabinets. |

Did you work at Lan Arena then? What do you do now it's closed down?
(If you don't mind me asking) I'm looking at getting a job in computers and don't really know where to start or what type of job to look for so any advice would be appreciated. |

erm the phrase...
L O L springs to mind. I hate that, a l337 server starts up, and within 1 week n00bies think they can interupt the l337 players. They should design a server so if you drop below a kill death ratio of 3/1 you get kicked automatically after being on the server for 3 rounds. Plenty of time to get 3 kills. 1 kill a round and you get to stay. Stop the crappy players sitting there after 20 secs of a round slagging everyone off. |

nah that wouldn`t work...
![]() cos if the server is full of good players, they would get kicked for having a pantz score

most n00bs don`t know what irc is...
stick the password for the server in the topic in the respective irc channel... sorted

thats one way, have a group of l337 servers run by barrysworld as uber-publics.
To get in you have to apply to admins with a minumum of 20 screen shots showing good scores, on decent servers (i.e not UK2). Then you are given the password to a hidden IRC room, for discussions and a list of uber-servers |

I was thinking along the lines of pro clans having their servers passworded with the password in their topic... also the hostname for the server could be something like::
wjd clanserver // #wjd @ quakenet for password ![]() means the channel gets more idlers, and also it gets rid of the n00bs off your server ![]() edit: w00t! 2500 posts (been a long time coming)

if it garanteed no n00bies, and not one single person acussing you i would.
Instead of "God look at the hax" "Watch, you can see his aimbot" you would get "Well played" "Nice shooting" and the game would actually be played as a team, not 10 members of a 12 man team running off at the speed of light, leaving 2 to play as a proper team. |

3 things to consider on that picture 1. i used the awp ALL THE TIME, no pistols and no knife, even at close range. 2. My team, aswell as loosing, had 4 AFK players for about 10minutes. 3. Took me 20minutes to get that score |
