Night Flight with LED Lite Night Blades

Here is a mod on the blades.

The Nexus with Modified rotor blades. Each blade has a battery and LEDs added to produce one awesome night flight.

Each blade has a Battery under the grips.
Also a switch to turn them on/off.
The mirror was used to show both top and bottom view of the finished blades.

The cost is hard to say. You can just make them with what you have like this web site show. Click Here
    Another link Click Here

The price to buy all depends on the size and quality. The ones you see in the photo above were $30 US , but you can get fiberglass nightblades that get into the $100+ range.

I never tried to build them. I just found this link for you to show how they are done.

Some people are even putting in an optical sencsor instead of a switch. As soon as it starts to get dark the LEDs come on. Havn't seen these for myself. Just read a little on them. Most have gone rechargable batteries. This would have been a nice feature to have.

Night flight is a very hard thing to do. It is a most a must to have another white landing light underneath the helicopter so you don't hit the ground hard or tip over.

Still they are cool to watch in the air.

I like to see the pictures. The Raptor is the helicopter of choice now.

    Looking forward to seeing them.

Would look really cool if you changed the red leds for UV ones and then painted the body of the chopper with UV reactive paint.

That's a cool idea. That would look great at night if it was bright enough.
