DETN8R has yet to learn the way of the Dremel
Project: FALSE | Done

The name of this case comes from my idea to make a false floor to hide the wiring. I thaught this name would apply to the overall theme I have planned out.

For this case I dont want ONE wire visible. I know this is quite a stretch and I probably will have to make some sacrfices but oh well.

Im probably going to have to make some covers for the hard drive(s), DVD, CD Burner. I want to water cool this thing so I dont have a problem with tubing showing.

I started out with an Enermax 305 Modified case. I won it for my work on Project:ZERO and its been sitting their collecting dust for awhile now. I began this case by first making all the modifications(herebye referred to as "mods") that I think anyone would make. I removed the front plexiglass and aluminum and made a large circular cut using an adjustable hole saw. I had to use a piece of aluminum to hold the hole saw in place because the plastic was tearing. This proccess turned out to be harder than I thaught it would, the surface of the bezel wasnt flat so it hard for the saw to cut.

The next thing I did was jot down a few plans. Since I want there to be no visible wiring Im deciding to make a false floor, I will probably use some plexiglass and aluminum. One source of inspiration lately has been the game Tron 2.0, I like all of the geometric shapes of the game and I think it would be nice to incorporate

this somehow into the new floor I will have to make. I will also be doing this to the top, I had originally planned on making a grid of holes but I was unable to get each hole centered properly and I decided to cut th top out leaving a 1" lip all the way around. Unfortunetly my jigsaw wasnt quite up to the task.

I made a few markings on the inside of top panel to ensure I didnt use the area for something else and find out later that I couldnt due to an obstruction.

This has been just a quick type up of my project log. Ive just been dying to get a new one up.

I was originally planning on something a bit more dark and gothic, something along the lines of...oh lets say....Crimsons Alien case. With Skulls(I have a ton of these now too) and everything dead like. Thereare a few details on my site about it. WWW.DETN8R.NET I still plan on doing, but not anytime soon.

Dont expect alot of updates on this log because Ive been a bit busy and a bit lazy lately. Odd combination huh?

It's actually quite easy to hide all the wires. build an L shaped bracket that covers the top of the motherboard and the part closest to the drive bays, that way when you slide the motherboad tray in, all the wires get hidden behind the bracket and it looks like a nice clean side, and the bracket should also hid all those nasty PSU wires being routed down to the mobo

it worked out fine for me, the only wire I had showing at all was the one coming off the CPU fan, and I even hid it a little by pasting it down onto the board with green sticky so it kind of blended in

Yeah, I have tons of plans already. That L shaped bracket has been one of them for awhile now but im goint to go about it differently.

Good luck hiding all the wires. I've been working on that for a few weeks on my case. http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=49380.
How are you planning to hide where the wires plug into the Mobo?
That is one place I can't figure out. I even thought about unsoidering the plugs from the front of the Mobo and resoidering them to the back. But I put a window in the Mobo tray.

I'll keep a close eye on your progress, maybe I can steal a idea or 2. lol

Good luck with your project, I'll be looking in and hopefully stealing a few ideas

I'm going for a clean look also and have mirrors to line the bottom of my case, hopefully hiding any wiring.

Good luck!!

WOOHOO, the first parts are coming in.

I ordered the Pump and Rad today. I went with Danger Den, got a Hydor L30 and the HeaterCore they have.

Cant wait for them to show up. Unfortunetly I still need to buy the computer to use them on. Aswell as the Waterblocks and res.

MUCH thanks to OneMadPoptart for helping me out with this explanations and recommendations.

Nice Ideas that you are coming up with... I look forward to seeing a good project out of this one...

Not to steal the thread but check out my case baby bliss and see what you think...

False Floors remind me of car audio and hiding subs... It would be so cool to do the bottom of the case in fiberglass and add some cold cathodes or even a large case speaker in the bottom..

good luck

Your case is looking good my58vw

____________

Got the pump and heatercore in

Im not sure if this is a good mistake or a bad mistake on DangerDens part, but they sent me the wrong heatercore. They sent the bigger/better one. Oh well, its to late to turn back now. I made all the neccessary changes to accomadate it. Im probably going to use two 120mm fans on it.

Im still a bit unsure about the placement of the pump because I plan on using a reservoir and in order for there to be no "kink" in the hose I may have to use a longer one. And I can mount the pump vertically because its not aesthetically pleasing.

I hope to have an update tomarrow after my trip to the auto parts store and home depot.

Again, much thanks to OMP whos helping me out alot in the extreme cooling hideout.
