Im sure this has been asked a million times before first of all. Does anyone have any links or anything to voltages and things that I would need to set up a playstation lcd to run off of a regular rca connection or svideo hook up?
normally i would say because your right, it has been asked a million times; however, the search seems to be br0ke i believe the PSONE LCD only has 4 wires, a red/black for power and a red/black for composite connection
I believe the PSOne uses a 12v input? I may be wrong, but if true, the LCD does too. Most 5" TFT LCDs are 12v anyway, so ha. But yes, it's a simple black/red power & black/red composite video That's for just the LCD, however. The entire unit has more for speakers and all
Well that blows. Also shows that it really is a normal PSX with the power supply mostly removed, bah humbug.
well i used the same old power for my psone lcd, just another wire coming out of the pc... and i m quite happy with how it works.. it was very simple, i m hooking up my video card to it as soon as it arrives.. that might require some modification a little teaser pic
hey do you recon you could send me an email on how you did it.. im goifn to be doign it with a psone screen in a the summer chriscummins(at)blueyonder.co.uk
testing RGB input, wired it to a Matrox G200 PCI. Used Composite Sync with 640x480i (interlaced) to get this clarity. Found mine for $32.25 at a local Target on clearance, this is the official Sony model. I think I made a thread a while back when I wired it, I have too busy with school/work to make any more progress
Im in the process of modding one too, if youd like somewhere to search try mp3car.com forums, loads of stuff there. I got mine wired up for rgb input, it is clearer than the composite although it flickers a little more, the only problem is when its wired up to the second vga socket it isnt detected as a second monitor and at the moment you have to hot swap it with another monitor after its been detected to allow you to enable the second output, thats on my radeon anyway, may be different on other cards. Actually il save you a search, i just found th elink to one of the sites and that in turn links to the others : here
I need a huge favor from anyone with the 5" playstation lcd. Will you PLEASE get a ruler and measure the size of the pcb on the back of the lcd. Im trying to fit it into a tight spot and want to make sure that itll fit without the pcb hitting anything. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE!!!
