    Jeeves or enigma now is your time to jump in and say that he stole your ideas for flames.

    That is one cool (and probably difficult) paint job. are you using a brush or a spray can? Good luck mate :)

    I'll be using auto spraypaint for the base paint job and will use an airbrush for the flames. I'll take lots of pics :rock:

    <Start Rant>

    Can we drop the stupid flame debate... flames have been used in pcs for so long... who cares it they use them.

    <Rant Done>

    I like your idea, just do soething more than just the paint... how about a fan controller or some stelthed drives... I like the overall idea but paint alone can not make the project... I will be watching this.

    (You can send the case for custom painting if you od not want to do it... just an idea, lots of custom painted case people out there...)

    STFU with the flames sh*t. If you don't like what they have to say, ignore them. Just because someone makes a critique/comment that isn't positive, doesn't give others the right to jump all over them.

    The idea for the case looks cool, but is there going to be any modding other than painting?

    Questions and Comments
    Yes, see below for a list. I havn't thought of a fan controller yet, but that's a nice simple mod I can do. As for stealthing the drive, it's a front load. Any hints on the best way to stelth that?

    hey little bitch... if you look at jeeves', or my own post in Bling Green, you would realize that i was being sarcastic because of the similarities, and if you wanna bring this into someone elses thread then just goto some other board where n00bs are accepted as dumbasses, the mis-understanding has been cleared up, except to your ignorant ass...

    christ sakes...

    the tribal flames look really good, hopefully they come out that good... maybe possibly looking into a palm sander for easier sanding...

    and did you paint the mesh material in the speakers?

    it was more of a dumb ass remark. It would have made more since in the thread that the misunderstanding took place, here it was way out of place to mention it. this project log is for ReikoX's project, please refrain from making any more "sarcastic remarks" pertaining to a completely diffrent thread.

    now, I realy love those tribal flames i have actualy been looking around for someone to do a similar tatto on my leg (ankle to knee full wrap around). Might i suggest a tribal sun on the front of the case (would make for good front fan hole). And you are going to have to paint the tribal flames on the speakers, and mabey paint the grill on them the darker blue to give it more of a contrasting look. All in all the case is looking good so far, keep it up.

    I think it's nice to put acrylic in the front panel. At where your nasa and biohazard sticker is. Not a regulair kinda shape window, but a special one. :hehe:

    Update 2004-05-04

    Question and Comments
    I hope they come out that good too. I used the same technique in photoshop that I will use in real life, but photoshop is much quicker and easier. Yes I used the same vinyl dye on the mesh material too.
    The tribal sun is a GREAT idea, thanks :hip:. The grills are metal, not fabric or plastic, so the vinyl die isn't taking too well to it. I think I will paint the grills silver to match the pinstriping on the case. I havn't decided on painting the flames on the speakers or just printing it on some letracet (read about it in another post for putting keys back on my keyboard but haven't found any yet).
    I was planning on putting some aluminum fans in the front of the custom bezel when I get around to doing it. But the further along I go the more I seem to violate my own rules. That will need a :dremel: for sure! The only rule I'm not willing to violate is #1 KISS! I want a very clean simple look.

    Thanks for the comments JEEVES and 3N1GM4 I like the work I've seen you two do.

    And Xeno, love the hair :thumb:

    now what you've been waiting for....

    Pictures
    Here are some practice flames drawn on a scrap of plexi
    [IMG]
    Masked and cut out
    [IMG]
    Base coat of orange

    Traced in yellow, but looks like white :duh:

    These are some ugly flames I did real quick to demonstrate the technique. I will try and do some nice tribal ones in the right colors tonight.
