Whats the best free or cheap webhosting out there? I doubt I need more than 10 megs and bandwidth will not be an issue. Just looking for something with minimal popups...

    hey
theres places like geocities but they are annoying as hell to us.

Check out Elastichosting.net run by me and another bit-tech member kiwi_uk.

Can do you 10mbs webspace and 20mb bandwidth for £6 a year no pop ups.

If your interested use the e-mail on the site or the mod's will get made with me :) for using bit-tech for business

Very tastefully done, no spamming or plugging here, but a nice answer to a good question.

    i use my own webserver.

i have made accounts for some friends and people who have asked. basically have an FTP account straight to their websites area, i will also set up a single e107/phpnuke/postnuke for people if they ask.

if you can wait a week or so i can host however much you want. (server is currently down for upgrade of php/mysql/MS SQL). tis all free and such.

The cheapest hosting I've found is bizarre-host.com (not bizarrehost.com, its a porn site host :hehe:). He gave me a deal at 500MB space, 5GB bandwidth, unlimited MySQL, unlimited POP email, unlimited subdomains, unlimited ftp accounts, cpanel, and a a whole bunch more for only $3 USD per month!

Visit hosthideout.com, and post a request in this section of their forums, you will get lots of replies with great deals (how I got mine).

Google is your friend. Anyway, I use freewebs. You can sign up with them for free and they also offer a premium account which costs money. They are very good. You might wanna check them out. If you looking for a free flash site with a included free flash intro then flashbuilder is for you. I used them too they are very good.

For anyone who's interested in windows hosting check at sipero.com (they do linux as well obviously) but for £20 a year you get 50mb 500mb transfer, all the usual bonus bits and the best support I have ever had the pleasure of dealing with. they are so quick you can have a conversation over email at 2 in the morning with them. the control panel is also excellent (can you tell i like them hehe) :D oh you get a free domain as well

Woo! Needed a new host for a while for my gaming league, bizarre-host.com looked great and signed up with them, looks really good, nice control panel, etc. Thanks for the suggestion! I noticed later that it's in Sweden, pretty neat.
