as the title say, does anybody know any cheap/free CAD software?
want to make a more detailed design of a case i'm going to build (http://forums.bit-tech.net/showthread.php?t=69454).

I've used SolidWorks before, which was excellent and perfect for my needs, albeit too expensive!

    anyway, thanks for any replies.

    Truespace 3.2

It is not very user friendly in my opinion, but I think it is pretty powerfull when you get use to it.

QuickTools and CadStd Lite are free crippleware, recommended in PCPlus this month.

But read the features list, some of the crippling might have removed the features you want. :wallbash:

If you want some serious 3D modeling, blender is open source and free, but it is very complicated. More for animation and 3D Art, than CAD design.

I have a CAD proggie on my machine @ home that was somethign I was going to evaluate.
I'll post up later tonight with name and web site.

Took me a while to find them too!
Was looking for precisely what you are asking for now.

    More later.

My son uses POV-Ray, it also is more for 3D art. Good thing is it's completely free and open source.
