Web site design Critique - comments welcome!

have been doing some work for a school i used to go to to help the history department build a website, theres not much in terms of content on there right now but, the design layout is just about done. What dyou think? I've tried to keep the design relatively simple with a "historical" feel to it.

Thanks!

nice work there, i see what you mean about the historical feel makes it a bit more fun for the kiddies.

its nice and clean and efficient, i noticed the use of php have you got a webpage admin area for teachers to upload new content then or are you doing all the maintaining??

once the site is full of content im sure it will be great, my school just needs something like this now!

Yeap the admin area is something i'm working on. I'd like teachers to be able to upload there own content, but i'm not really sure how to do it is there anything you could recommend?

hmmm, there are some dhtml popup menus on mouseovers for the main menu, but they seem to run fine in IE, Firefox and opera. I guess it must be your firewall. (Gonna take them out most probably anyhow)
