Project Zak's Hevy Plex SLB. Finished

who's Zak?

Zak's my 8yr old son

and i promised after i got thru with modding hpres2 and few other proggys id jazz up his Super Lan Boy case

The idea will be to add plex panels and some sexy lighting with a industial look, keeping the whole mod basic but clean and sharp looking without loosing the SLB look he likes so much.

Rather than pull down his current slb we decided a nice fresh case was the order of the day to start this mod with and some pre cut to side clear 4.5mm plex and 2 x defyant style full side mounted water res's.

while zak pulls get a start and pulls down the case for cutting i get a start with the custom side res's

These new models will have a "qick release" type mount.

The end result after water testing.

Next was to get a start on the plex side paneling.

To give the case a hevy industrial look were attatching all the panels using hex head bolts and countersinking all the holes on the plex.

a shaped hole is cut as to allow the Custom res's to "sit in"

Holes are drilled and the side panel new plex panel and res's are bolted together.

Already looking good Defyant, nice use of the keyboard guts

Do you just use normal acrylic cement when building your tanks? I am making a custom tank myself, obviously what your using works good

Looking awesome already. You're already showing that this is of similar standard to Resurection.

In the bottom left picture you have what looks like the guts of an old keyboard. What are they, and are they attached in that bottom right pic? (If so, how?)

thanx guys

the KB guts is just placed uner the clear plex, the bolts sandwich it all together

I'd love to adpot more but as it is i seem to have adapoted almost every kid in the neighbourhood! as well as 2 years worth of cases to mod :P

Hevy plex slb will be water cooled i think the Dual side res's will become my trade mark on all my watercooled pcs

i cant promise another HPres2 i dont know if i have that detail of case in me again but i will do my best !

Qiky update.

Adding the top and new side window.

The top was again counter sunk drilled to aloow for hex bolts.
The same for the side window, the original was binned for a matching one.

All edges were hand beveled and wet rubbed then polished by hand.

Next was to install a modualar "plug and play" type bay bus @ the back of the pc.

This will supply power to the rear mounted radiator fan as well as the "hot swappable plug and play" light setup!!!!!

Again some Defyant style flex lights are made.

these will plug into each of the 3 panels and supply the light show.

Next a quick test! with and without the workshop lights on

Next was to sort out some lighting for the Res's. Another defyant style glext light was made this time with a clear plastic end clamp. This will attatch to the base of the re's.

A rubber grommet was also added to the side panel to hold the led light tight and in place.

Last but least a full light test.
