The purist in me tells me to dump the fences and the sidebar gadgets -- waste of resources. I need to keep reminding myself I have 16Gb of RAM largely unutilised.

Speaking of which, does anyone have a low overhead system monitor to recommend? Sidebar gadgets are bloat.

Rainmeter isn't a shell replacement. It just puts different and, in my opinion, better looking gadgets on your desktop. So, if you wanted, you could replace the windows gadgets with some Rainmeter ones while keeping fences. Although personally I would ditch fences also and go for a nice launcher gadget with Rainmeter.

Alternatively, you could use Samurize instead of Rainmeter. That does offer system monitoring although I found it less intuitive to customise multiple gadgets and layouts with Samurize.

You can get skins for both Rainmeter and Samurize that link up with programs like speedfan and Aida64 to display temps on them too since Rainmeter doesn't come with that feature as standard (cannot recall if Samurize does).

I had a look at that but There doesn't seem o be a Genre label at all.
