    Hi,

I had been thinking about bringing to life a casemod concept which I thought would be very cool. It was only a few weeks ago that I took the courage to actually put my hands on the construction of the case...

This is the original concept drawing of the case and this is what I want it to look like:

I was thinking about doing this whole case in inox, but since that would make it way too heavy I'm making some parts of it in (much lighter) aluminium.

A little background information of the concept:
As you can see on the drawing, there is a sort of a cylinder on the corner of the case, which is to be found on any of the four corners actually.
In these 'pillars' of stapled flat 'donuts' or rings there will be a plexi tube with a liquid neon ccfl in it. To cool them there will be mounted on top of the pillar a metal shower tube (with chrome finish :thumb: ).

There will be 2 fans sucking away the air through the pillars and through the tubes to cool down the ccfl's.

Following are some pictures of already completed work.

If anyone of you has a question about something you don't understand or something you would like me to make clear or to give a suggestion ... don't hesitate and just reply!

Also, if you want to know something extra about the production, just ask.

More update will follow as work on this casemod will progress...

Yeah downsize those pics guy, those are beyond way too big. Dont expect anyone to do what you should have with View Image, and maybe read the forum rules while your at it.

Anyways, thats a cool looking concept though, ar you going for a terminal/interface station kind of feel? It looks like something you would find on a wall in Half Life 2 :hip:

sorry guys, when messing with the pictures in Photoshop I totally forgot the size of the pictures I was working with. I think at a resolution of 800*600 they're much better viewable. Sorry for the inconvenience... :D

Well, in a way you do: www.emachineshop.com

If not, I'm sure there are hundreds of fabrication shops in the greater DC area that would be more than willing to help you prototype your design. It's pretty expensive to have someone else do it, but certainly cheaper than buying the equipment yourself :p

As far as the case goes, I'm not really sure how the tubes relate to the original design. Perhaps a sketchup of the design would help? I do love to see custom millwork in cases though. Keep us posted!

aha! almost looks like a sci-fi castle. I'm not sure that those hoses will really do much for air flow, but they sure look cool.

Man, you know how to draw a sketch! I enjoy those sketches more than those 3d-generated. Subscribed. This mod could become one of the top mods of bit-tech. I wish you luck.
