Hmm, looks like the FX-55 can outperform this though

It depends what situation you are looking at, check the product positioning that is on the final page of the (p)review. AMD see the FX-series as the "fastest available gaming procesor", and right now they feel that the FX-55 fits that mould better than anything else. However, as we've shown, the FX-55 really falls over if you try and feed it more pie than it can handle - this is where the dual core Athlon 64 X2 really comes in to its own.

I'm sitting with Athlon xp 2800+ and I will upgrade to some x64 system but that will be next summer most likely when windows will fix and update their windows 64 version and when the prices will be real low. As for you, if you have the money go ahead go crazy. Though I think future systems will be multi processor with dual cores to support amazingly fast video cards.

bigz, great job on the review. Felt like I was reading something that was definitely an unbiased approach.

Dual core is nice, but the place where I see it really coming into its own is the home entertainment pc market, where there can be MP3 and DVD ripping, playback, and TV viewing all going on at once. That would be a great market for this chip!
