Update iPod on different computer

Does anyone know if I can update an iPod on a different computer than usual without doing nasty things to it?

My dad's boss let him borrow his iPod photo, and we want to be able to put an image on it using my computer. I have an iPod mini, so I have iTunes and the dock cable etc. Is this possible without his iPod accidentally being formatted or all the songs being erased and replaced with the ones that automatically update onto my mini?

Thanks

Plug in your mini, then load up itunes, go edit / preferences / ipod. Should be a setting in there for turning off automatic updating etc. Turn that off, plug in other ipod and things *should be ok*. If not, try using a program like Eph Pod. dunno if it does photo's tho!

disk mode

You could do it in disk mode. You wouldn't be able to see the pics, but you would be able to transfer the pic.
