i never realized that the actual rendering was done before then making of the movie and not all of it was used. interesting...

That was a pretty cool read. It's interesting to see more and more graphics-type people move away from the standard Mac-based platform in favor of Windows/Linux/whathaveyou.
In the article, it suggests that animatics were "effectiveley invented for Episode I..." Animatics have been a staple in the film industry for a very long time, both in the form of models and rough computer animation. I know that Disney has used animatics as far back as the Aristocats (1970), where a rough computer model was used to previsualize a scene to assists the animators. I know, it's nit-picking an otherwise excellent article. Forgive me? -monkey

I liked the article, but it sounded like one giant AMD add.. while I love AMD and think their latest line of processors are great... i'd rather read an article bringing new information to me, not an article that does so while constantly screaming "WITH AMD, THE FUTURE IS YOURS!!"
