iPod Mini problem
I have noticed two little oddities when using my iPod lately, and I want to know if anyone has any suggestions.
1. A couple songs will stop playing part way though and just skip to the next song. I've even tried erasing all the songs and reloading, but the same two songs always do that, though they work fine in iTunes. 2. Sometimes when I'm mowing, the iPod will just pause midsong, even though I have the 'hold' on so I didn't press the pause button. I figure that the hard-drive is just getting too much vibration and had to stop playing or somthing, but I'm not sure so I thought I'd ask. Thanks in advance. PEACE |

No, they have a 1" minidrive. I'll try the firmware, though.

RE: The two songs that stop playing halfway through -
I am guessing that the files a tiny bit corrupt. itunes probably has better error correction than the iPod. Try re-ripping the songs with error correction enabled. (If you don't still have the media, you could try converting them to another format and see if that fixes the problem. Oh, and for further clarification for kill_me_quick, it's the shuffle that has flash memory in it.

not corrupt. ipods have a pretty well documented problem with playing VBR MP3 files- it's happened to me too. there is a fix out there; and here it is:
http://txfx.net/2005/02/08/vbr-mp3-fix/ as for the other one.... not sure. |

Actually, both files are iTunes AAC songs, so the VBR MP3 isn't it. I might be burning them all to audio CD and re-encoding into MP3 soon (to remove the DRM for my other MP3 player and because I forgot how to back up my AAC licenses). Hopefully that will work.
