Not sure if anybody heard about it but a guy in Shanghai killed his friend because he soled the "dragon saber" for 680€, that they unlocked together in
"Legend of Mir III", without his permision.
The Friend wanted to pay pack the money but the 42 year old Qui Chengwai stabbed him in an outburst of rage...

Afterwards he said that it was never his intention to kill his firiend Zhu Caoyaun...he was sentinced to death by a court in Peking but managed to get away with 15 years...
It's a little scary what some people do in connection withe computer games...

This was posted before but only news that someone was stabbed not as far as the sentence 15 years I dunno if thats long or not but 15 years is a long time anyway.

Can't believe someoen can stab someone must be playing games day and night he needs to wake up or get a reality check...

Mm, but someone who would kill over a computer game pretty obviously had issues in the first place. If it hadn't have been a game it would have been a movie, or a song, or whatever. Some people are just nuts, sadly.

Have any of you guys actually played lom? (legend of mir)... it is possibly the most addicting game ever. That sword will have taken him about a year of 10 hours a day to get possibly. I would be pee'd off!!

Atleast they actually give out prison sentences, in uk he'd be out within 8 years.

I don't understand, the differince between a virtual item and a physical item seems to make such a great deal of differince for the crime for you guys. Obviously the virtual item had a value of €680 and that's that. Some people/corporations pay way more than that for a license of some software, which also would be virtual - who would pay €1500 for a sequence of ones and zeroes?

Yes, of course, this guy is wrong, but it's not because it's a video game that makes it so special. It probably happens tens of times a day that someone is killed because they stole from them. And that's exactly what this is.
