Nice one
![]() Very nice little box o' tricks, were you not tempted to hack it up to get the extra room for the GTX cards? Tis impressive what you get in a box that big nowadays, still wouldnt buy one as my 'main' pc though.

mmmmmm, very tasty. Although i must admit that my very first thought when i looked at the review was "i wonder if the cooling system would fit a 7800." and you answered the question all right, but no PICs? or is that being greedy

LAGMonkey: Pics of 7800 are on Page 4 mate: http://www.bit-tech.net/hardware/200...26p_sli/4.html
7800 GT that is - the GTX doesn't fit, as noted. Quote:
As mentioned in the review, this is a press preview sample, or a "nearly final engineering sample" if you like. Shuttle are aware of a few issues, and are working hard on fixing them all, and one of which is GeForce 7 support. You have to remember that the GeForce 7 series wasn't even on the radar when work begun on this design, so the switch from 6800 to 7800 has put Shuttle in a bit of a bind. Since the full model isn't due out until Q4, it is possible that the 6800 support will be dropped completely in favour of 7800s. But that is just my conjecture |

Sorry Pope, i should have said that i wouldnt have minded seeing 7800 cards WITH the shuttle cooling system installed on them and not stock cooling.
But thanks for the great review anyway

Ah ok. Sorry - we didn't have time for that, and suspecting there will be an official Shuttle 7800 version, we didn't want to kill our lovely 7800s trying. There is nothing wrong with the theory of fitting them, but you can't just go bending heatpipes willy nilly to fit your purposes - they won't survive that treatment.

Well i hope if shuttle do decide that 7800 support is a good idea, that they then dont drop the 6800's because by then id actually be able to afford the 6800's

There is no confirmed shipping date for this product - they are back to the drawing board addressing some of the issues that we highlighted with this particular system and we suspect that there will be another sample heading our way in Q4 some time.

IIRC, there is only room for two if you have the heatpipe cooling solution installed.

hi all,
the shuttle europe site says that the SN26P doesnt use the heatpipes anymore with 7 series cards. instead uses stock cooling of the cards. how is that possible? one fan is going to be tightly stuck between the cards. where will the air come from!!!??? any one tested this config and GPU temp yet? |

Any updates on this? I'm interested in a SFF SLI computer. Have the issues been resolved?
Is the dual graphics card option only available with the factory installed heat pipes or will 7800GTX work fine now? Last edited by JAG Wolfe; 1st Jul 2006 at 22:08. |
