Asus A7N8X

If any of you people who are wanting to buy one or own one. It is recommended to replace the battery to a 3.3V one, that increase the stability of the BIOS as many people including me have resulted a corrupted bios and it wont POST at all and resettig wont help.

My BIOS is dead. Its gone back to be flashed. If it doesnt POST after it was fixed ill sucide.

I underclocked my computer, changed soome ram latency settings and the computer, saved settings and the damn thing never POST again.

Good luck to any nforce2 users out there.

well... if anyone actucally did go and check the BIOS datasheets, you would have found the requirement for the chip is 3.3V and ive tested the little battery that came with it and it only gives off an amazing 3V and since it was rather 3V anyway i didnt expect it would be much good either.

one thing to keep in mind, asus support does not exist

Actually, they do...my motherboard came in defective, called the support line, they take your # and call you back within a day or so. Needless to say, my replacement should be here Monday (tomorrow).

Cheers,
David

OK - I am worried now....

How can I check whether or not I have the right battery fitted?
I have had no problems at all as yet but it's still early days.

well mine worked for 2 weeks. im sending the bios tomorrrow to nertherlands to be flashed. five quid isnt bad.

erm, if i were you i would go and buy a bios savior http://www.ioss.com.tw/eg/orderform0920.html and the RD1-PMC4, its 24US + 8US shipping roughly.

then after you got that, buy a brand new CR3032 battery.

If computer will not POST then you will save you hair on your head from being pulled out because you are frustrated and worried like me.
