Ahhh... Civ IV... nothing like taking over the world with a nuclear Ghandi.

Unfortunately, this latest expansion breaks Linux installs of the game.

Worshippers of the Great Penguin have yet to find a workaround.

privateers were in civ 3. did they remove them for 4? and all the expansions?

/quit playing since a 9 hour straight game of 3 that ended in a nukefest.

    Lol - too true!

Without randomising personalities - has anyone ever managed to cooperate *in any way* with Catherine, Montezuma or Tokugawa?? All three are shitty from start to finish... finish being rather earlier than they would hope - they always end up as my bitches, one way or another...

There's a Linux version of this? I had no idea - I was an obsessive player of Civ2 & Alpha Centauri, and thought that my recent conversion to the Great Penguin meant I had to go unCivilized.

Off to google for more info...

No Linux version as such, but Civ IV works under Cedega (as long as you leave BTS alone)

Yeah, i'm not sure why they did remove them but they are definitely a good new addition (or revival) of an interesting ship.

I'm just about to finish a huge game at the moment which is turning into a ridiculous nukefest. I have but one ally :(.

I'm a little curious as to just how many of the scenarios and mods are available for free already, I know at least some of them are.

I've forgotten the exact number but all the public/modder made ones are available for public download along with several other very good mods. The inhouse ones are only available with the expansion i believe :).

is the space sim worth the money? I'm tired of the Civ series, but would love if the space victory would expand into further gaming in space/earth.

While I'm attracted to civ-like gaming on colony worlds, for space itself I can't help thinking that Gal Civ 2 is going to be better regardless.
