Cooling SilenX Fans

Hey guys! I have heard these fans are pretty good on the performance/dba scale. Tell me if anyone has had these before and if they really do produce 90 CFM at only 18 dba! Ill bewaiting for replies!!! O and here is the link ---> http://www.silenx.com/ixtremaprofans.asp?sku=ixp-76-18

Lol, I have a fan that pushes 220CFM at 60dba! (At the same size, 120m x 38mm)

Dunno about those fans though.

The fan itself is quiet, but the air it moves makes alot of noise. I bought a 120mm SilenX fan and returned it because of that.

 

My past experience with SilenX fans has been quite positive. But make sure they're well isolated (rubber mounts or something) so you don't get any vibrations from the case.

 

SilenX are over rated. Noctua fans are awesome

SilenX fans are crap. Overpriced, barely push any air at all, and not as silent as they should be. Nexus are the benchmark for quiet 12cm fans and they do rather pwn. Noctua are fairly good case fans but don't use one on a CPU, as they get absolutely obliterated by any obstruction whatsoever.

they are noisy... but perfect in a push pull config on a thermalright heatsink for insane cooling during timely limited overclocking sessions.

 

I will jump on the THEY ARE TOTALLY CR@P WAGON.

I bought 4 and they were all terrible. Everyone of them plagued by motor noise with the slightest of undervolting. I dont know how they get their rating since when I held them next to a Sycthe Fan (48CFM) I could feel more air coming frm the Sycthe fan.

Stay away from them !

 

SilenX tell lies. Big whoppers. More realistic figures for that fan would be 50cfm, 30dBA.

I have 5 of them (120mm) personally. It all depends on what your level of expectations are. Do they doctor or even possibly lie about their CFM to dB rating? Yes.

 

ehhhh is that not what everyone but Delta has in mind?

 

Yup, it's louder then my hairdryer. It can hover a little bit though!

Scythe X-flex are excellent fans. Delta fans are great and they have a huge variety of CFM ratings.

 

ok lets vote on favorite fans!!! I like acryans for flair and panaflos are good also Thats what bill uses!

 

SilenX is not 16db / 5843078753704875 cfm. It's 16db at lowest starting voltage and whatever cfm at 12v. You're looking at closer to 35 db.

I like Yate Loon's. They're cheap.
